Upgrades

Post by Yogi Yohan »

When upgrading a factory to produce a new type of plane or tank, the delay should be very much smaller if the new kind is a variant of the same basic model i.e., changing a factory from Pz-IIIh to Panzer IIIj should be possible in a single turn, even under human factory control.

By the same token, when changing the equipment of an air group or armoured unit, if the new equipment is of the same basic model as the old one (PzIII, Bf-109, T-34 etc) the drop in experience should be much smaller than if a completely different kind of equipment is selected.

Thanks, great! Ah, come to think of it, then there are the TDs and assult guns based on an existing chassis. Changing production from say a Pz-III to a StuG III or Pz-II to Marder II should also be faster than changing a Pz-III to a Pz-IV, perhaps two turns? This would give you an incentive to keep building those Pz-IIs instead of swithching to Pz-IIIs...

Changing to a completely different kind, on the other hand should take longer than 4 weeks, say 6 or even 8.
