How many? And what was the color scheme. If you can provide color references and a planform I will do the work.

I last saw them in "Flying Review International" in the mid 60's..They were green and tan in color with the usual Chinese emblem ..
My copy of "Combat Aircraft of The World",(John W.R.Taylor) confirms "Substantial quantities were built for export to China".Apparently the Chinese had the model with 2 12.7 mm MG's..No numbers are given in this source.
According to "Flying Tigers:Chennault In China"(Ron Heiferman)Ballentine books,The Italians had established a Fiat aircraft plant in China in the mid 30's and a flying school to train Chinese pilots at Loyang..(Chennault was critical of the school when he arrived as he noted the school passed the cadets whther they could fly,or not!).
This book also states the Russians in 1940 supplied the Chinese with flying schools which turned out the best Chinese pilots.(Indeed the Chinese A.F. was an international affair at least a decade before the AVG arrived.)..
The Russians furnished the Chinese with 6 Russian squadrons, and also gave them 400 planes of their own.
This book indicates the Japanese pretty much clobbered the Chinese A.F.(Chinese pilots) by the Marco Polo incident "war",so that by 1941 only 91 of the true "Chinese" Italian planes were actually flyable, the rest being Russian made,Russian flown.
An "International Air Squadron" was created in 1938 of Americans,Dutch, and British flyers. These men were based at Hankow and were pretty much useless by 1939,as they too were flying the Chinese Italian planes, which were no match for the agile Japanese fighters.
So,while these sources do not give a number of Italian CR 32's,it was apparently at least 2 squadrons by the time of Pearl Harbor,(figuring roughly 14-21 planes per..)..
And by this time, they were being flown by Chinese pilots, and apparently not the better Russian trained pilots.
NOTE:This might indicate a need to "up" the quality of the Chinese I-15 and I-16 pilots??
(Great,another can 'o' worms!!)

I’m working with my old art files, upgrading and reworking them, right now I’m trying to add propellers to Allied a/c profiles… many of them are too big to have a propeller, looks like I have to redo some of these… may be there is something else here to improve or change? Brightness, colors… scale? Any ideas?

Image

wow those look great! if only we could get the ships to look bigger like that!!!

hey subchaser done any new japanese a/c profiles??? im really looking for some new ones. especially for the army fighters and bombers.

Ok, Tankerace camo time:

Maryland 1944

Missouri 1944

Alabama 1942

Saratoga 1944

Essex (Randolph) 1944

Fletcher 1942

The Northamptons

As she appeared at Pearl Harbor, in MS 1 Camo. Note grey foremast and white false bow wave.

Image
Northampton class in mid-late '42 (I suggest 10/42 fit) MS 21 Camo, navy blue on all vertical surfaces.

Image
Louisville in late '43/44 MS 32 Camo, similar to that of the previous I posted.

Image

The Portlands

Image
In MS 1 camo, identical to Northamptons

Image
In MS 21 Camo, again identical to Northamptons

Image
The Portland in 1944. Notice how the pattern is completly different (based off a photo of Portland)

Image
Portland in 1945, similar (but not same) as Northamptons

New Orleans

Image
New Orleans in 1942, Ms 21 Camo. The New Orleans class are unique, in that they didn't have one set pattern. I chose to Model the Ms 21 of the New Orleans, changing to the Ms 33 (NOT 32) of Tuscaloosa, and then upgrading to the MS 22 worn by most of the ships in '45. Some ships had MS 12 camo, but I think that is something Im reserving for the Atlanta's.

Image
Tuscaloosa in 1944. MS 33 Camo is similar to MS32, but no black is used.

Image
And finally New Orleans finishing up the war, in MS 22 camo.

Oh Cobra, I love your work, but on a note to your Vanguard, British ships deploying to the Pacific in 1945 wore a variation of US Measure 22 Camo, navy blue and ocean grey. After 1944, both countries discontinued the disruptive pattern.

I thought it might be a pirate ship that plagues the China Sea[:)] copied from Pirates Gold! Great work on the ships, can't wait to see how the scen pans out. Will this be an official Matrix scenario like the War Plan Orange scen?

The Schooner and a small Coaster (in CobraAus Panel #2) represent such small craft that were very active around New Guinea/New Britain/New Ireland and other areas. Names like:

Schooner: Lanakai, Lakator, Lauralaba, Gnair, Malahuka, Aussi
Coaster: Induna Star, Balus, Bingera, Merkus, Alfoer, Batak, Makassar

Small ships but big in the history books - and very useful in WITP. Japan has some similar ships.

Hmm, the camo's are intresting....I have seen some from subchaser, they were VERY good, like his plane sides.

Tankerace, please dont get me wrong but I think that some of them have only 2 colors ? Is there a way to improve them a bit please [:)]

LOL, that's the effect.. Look really close (dont look at the ship as a whole) and you can see the other color (except the New Orleans in MS 33, that is 2 colors). Still, these are pretty much rough drafts.

Tanaka, truly speaking I’m quite happy with those I’ve already made… there are some new ones really, but these are not included yet in any of existing scenario mods, I’ll polish them a bit and post them later.. stuff like Seiran, Kikka, Ki-10 etc.

Sorry, I have unintentionally removed them from my page…

Yes these were excellent, thanks a lot. but warships material is what I really need. Do you have any profiles or scans? Or may be some books to scan, like squadron/signal in action series, their profiles are superb and may be of use.

Take a look at this. There is an idea to make all major warship classes in game look like this, at least their back profiles. It’s clear to me now that it’s absolutely impossible to redraw all types and classes like this, no material, but I think there is no need actually… how often do you go to, let say, MSW Spitz data screen? I bet not that often. The ships you always keep an eye on – are CV, BB, CA, DD…for airgroups, upgrades etc. So it would be great if you can help me with this. BTW anybody else have anything to share? I’ll be extremely grateful…
