I was very pleasantly suprised to find the remake of one of my favorite games.

I am using v2.0 that I downloaded on the 28th and I needed some clarification.

During combat with detail turned up, boxes appear on the screen containing icons with numbers next to them. I have seen combats where a very large German force attacks a small Russian unit (beginning of Campaign41).

The boxes would show a hundred German tanks attacking 37 squads with 10 AT guns. During the combat resolution, the Germans would lose more than 10 AFVs. When the combat was over the combat report would indicate that the defending force consisted of a much greater number of units than the icons indicated. More than 80 squads. Which is correct? Is the visual representation of forces taking into account readiness? Why do tanks seem to get slaughtered?

To recap questions.
1. Why are the force totals different between the on-screen windows and the after-action report?

2. Why do tanks seem to get wiped out so easily?
