Mech Brigade clone?

Post by shredder »

I'm a wargamer from way back. I played Mech Brigade from SSI in the late 80's until my eyes bled, and have some of my fondest wargaming moments playing this classic. At first glance it appears that FG bears a great resemblance to Mech Brigade (I'm hoping this is the case). Anyone care to comment? Assuming, of course, you have experience with both games.

Also, I would like to get a physical copy of this game shipped to me. If I order the download, will the CD be shipped to me when it comes out?

Hi, I played the crap out of Mech Brigade back then. You can´t really compare them simnply because there have so many years passed in game development since then. One thing, giving order is way easier in FPG [;)]

But I´m very sure if you liked Mech Brigade then you will also like FPG.

We´re looking for the 11th of this month for the physical products to be available.

If I order the download, will the CD be shipped to me when it comes out?

Sorry no, but we´re working with Digital River to have such a service available inthe future.

Thanks for the reply Marc. I guess I'm not the only old fart that's on this forum. [;)]

With regards to the CD, let's say I download the game today, and a month from now the CD is available. Will there be an option to order the CD at a reduced charge since I've already paid for the download? The reason I want a physical copy is that I am connected through the internet via DirecWay, and after downloading about 100 MBs, the system slows waaaaaaay down because users are allowed only a finite amount of usage per day, and with a 272 MB download, I'm afraid that it will never completely download.

Use a download manager like get right.

You can download a chunk until it slows down and then pause and close the program and resume it again the next day.
My DSL has a fair usage policy as well and that is what I had to do.
I did it overnight and got about 70% of the way done and then did the rest when I got home from school and it download the rest in an hour.

Program is really easy to use.

Sorry, that´s currently not possible, but we´re looking into ways to make this kind of option available for future releases.
