................... play as the Germans ???.... I havent seen any blurbs anywhere if you can select the side you wish to play as...

Sure, you can play as either side, as both, as none, or however you want

Mike,

1. During set up you can set each side... choices are human, computer, computer +, etc...

Put the Allies to computer and Axis to human to play against the AI.

2. Hotseat games are human vs. human by default.

3. In PBEM for a secure game, player 2 is the Axis (player 2 is person who starts secure game file and sends set up file to Allied player).

4. In PBEM for a non-secure game player 2 is the Axis (player 1 is person who starts game and then plays Allied turn 1 immediately).

Hope this clears things up.
