Map graphics

Post by Embiss »

Just wondered if it was possible to release the map images as graphic files?

I would like to be able to add Maneuvere graphics to my scenario descriptions and, whilst it would be possible to stitch a load of screenshots together for this, the result is messy, and the method time consuming.

I don't see why not but let me check first with the powers that be.

Nicely put! The powers that be are not getting back to me. They seem to have a lot else on the production spiral right now and time is tight. I will pester them again though.

Cheers, Rob.

This is a map graphics anomaly

When I first got FPG, I noted and posted in a thread when an artillery explosion occurred, in the small square where the billowing explosion graphics were generated, the background graphic was from a part of the map around 5 squares to the left of the explosion. I've watched it dozens of times and its very consistent. THEN, It quit doing it after a day or two ... mysteriously ... I did nothing, it just stopped and I thought I'd gone crazy. (you can see my first observation posts in one of the first impression threads)

Now that I've patched up to V1.01, its doing it again. Has anyone else noticed this? Or is my lunacy returning? Hopefully, it will do the same and just stop ... I've even restarted my 'puter a few times after the patch up to no avail.

... not a show stopper, just an observation.

Hank, I really want to fix this. I already knew that if you put the unit display panel on the left instead of the right, it displaces the background used for the animation by the corresponding amount. Something similar might be happening with you. What OS are you using and are you running full screen? Is there any other surrounding detail that you can provide?

Thanks, Rob.

Its been a while since I checked this thread.

But you found out what I did. If the side menu is on the left instead of the right, it messes up the explosion graphics for vehicle to vehicle and artillery explosions.

When explosions are near the left edge of the map it even captures the menu graphics. I run Windows 2000 and XP and I play full screen and not full screen. I have loaded it on my laptop and on my desktop at home to see if it was a computer thing or a software thing. It does the same on both computers.

NOt much else I can say about it. My suggestion would be if it appears to be a deep seeded graphics problem, I would just do away with the menu location option and always have it on the right side for the V1.02 release. I could live with that and it would release you to do more important things. I'm just used to menus being on the left because that's where I put in my Panzer Campaign games ... I've done it that way for years but its not really that important. I believe in simplicity. Just do away with the option to move the side menu to the left side.

but that's MHO.
