After the war with the Hegemony the Alliance admiralty recognized that there cheapest yet most effective weapon at there disposal was the fusion torpedo. Cheap, dependable, and deadly. With this in hand the admiralty set out the quickly refit the Spectre class destroyer with 4 addition torpedo tubes; thus the Heavy Destroy class Spectre was born.
Upon successful field testing of the new refit other class refits will be approved.

So...wait. Did you just re-create the Spectre from scratch or did you somehow decode milo's .dats?? [X(]
Looks awesome regardless.

I almost don't dare to ask seeeing this little miracle and great piece of work, but is it not possible this vessel has too much firepower for a destroyer?
I have been suggesting missle variants of existing ships before and seeing this is like a wish becomeing true.
Maybe it would be wise to remove two of the lasers to take the additional space for the launchers and maybe added storage into account.
No matter what: impressive piece of work, keep it up! [&o]

That has not done for starships in Starfleet Command. Why should be done with this? By the way, in SFC are light cruisers with 6 missile launchers!

Oh yea, top of the line missiles are more powerful than Photon Torpedoes and don't require limited energy, but they are slow and in limited numbers.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

I wouldnot think its to much firepower. If the defending force has enof PDBs then 6 luanchers are no problem. Thus the missiles VS PDB coverage delima. Do you add offence or defence when designing?
the extra room for the tubes is provided by the widened fore section. Some interior rom was lost so the top 'bridge' like area was enlarged along with the bottom aft area.

Set against 5 Milo class Lt. Destroyers the Heavy Spectre slowly losses. Once the missiles are depleted its then no more thana bigger slow spectre. The Lt. Destroyers make quick work of it; since they are smal and more manuverable..

Anyways, glad everyones liking it.

I was not aware that this version is actually supposed to be "heavier" than the original, which would explain the added firepower perfectly.
Looking forward to flying it.

To Matti: There was some blance in that since those ships were quite expensive, a comparable BPV system is missing in Starshatter (not that I would mind)...and my D6D, which will appear in the TMP era as some kind of final attempt by the Klingons to get some use out of the old ships will have some serious disadvantages for balancing...and I think there are limits to some older ships like the D6.

Update: I forgot to add LOD's. I just added them a re-Uploaded the file. Of you have an early version, no big deal unless your planning a massive space battle using the Heavy refit.
