It will not be out in the stores by Feb 7. If everything goes well we could be done with the software by then, but you have to add production and shipping time. A more realistic date is late Feb/early March.

This thing is killing me. I was ready to buy this when I first saw it back on September 6, when it was slated for November release.

I figured I'd get a few good months of playing in before the Feb 28 due date of my second child. Now it seems like the due dates are the same!

You guys aren't going to make me choose between going to the hospital or downloading this beast are you?! Come on!

Better not rush things and be dissapointed. By the looks of the sreenies, discussions and AAR's in the past this will be a very solid and fun game to play.

According to the General Forum: What is the release schedule? there are 5 games in front of GGWAW[X(] per Erik. Something doesn't add up, 5 games is a long time for Matrix, maybe they have new working hours[&o][;)].

We have not released a gold master so they are obviously out of date. Expect to see it in the store sometime in March.

Thanks for the update, Joel. Is there anyone at Matrix in contact with EB or are these dates just shots in the dark? If Matrix is talking to them, are they talking to 2by3? If not, it seems quite irresponsible for EB to keep posting release dates. I think that this is more the frustration from waiting than anything else.

I can't speak for what Matrix is telling EB, but in my experience there is always a lag between the information and what a retailer posts, especially as the products is in the final beta stage. Until the game goes gold master, you know there is going to be at least a delay for production and shipping (again in my previous experience 2-3 weeks, but I can't say for sure what that is these days).

Is that the same date that it will be available for download or will that happen sooner since packaging and shipping aren't needed?

Give it a couple of weeks, and it won't be. [:'(]

Since there is going to be a printed manual, I think I will wait for the brick and mortar store option. I'd like to have it in hand when I have the software.

I don't know, with WITP I had the manual printed and spiral bound at Kinko's and its the best quality manual I've ever had. Big pages that are easy to read and lay flat. I'll definitely do the same with GGWAW assuming the manual comes in pdf format. I know its an extra $5 or $6 but this is a game I've waited for over a year for and I plan on playing it for a very long time!

Has everybody noticed how quiet things are from the 2by3 and matrix guys?! I think that's good. The calm before the storm... [:)]
