Q: Pre-game force set-up

Matrix Games and Simulations Canada combine and completely remake two classic NATO vs. Warsaw Pact wargames into a new classic. Based on the original wargames “Main Battle Tank: North Germany” and “Main Battle Tank: Central Germany”, Flashpoint Germany is a new grand tactical wargame of modern combat. Every aspect of modern grand tactical warfare is included, from advanced armor, air and helicopters to chemical and tactical nuclear weapons. Step into the most dangerous war.. . that never was.

Q: Pre-game force set-up

Post by Adam Parker »

Once again kudos to SimCan for incorporating this feature as part of the game. A player really gets to know his/her forces by picking them up and placing them on the map within a set-up area. Just like boardgaming! This I hope will create some fine replayability too.

Question - understanding that this feature exists at the start of each scenario, does the AI use it to vary its own set-up from play-sitting to play-sitting?

On the whole, it's too early for any feedback from me just yet re gameplay etc. Gotta get into those rules first as for me, this is quite a variation in layout and approach from the usual 2d war game. Even that from Panther! Quite surprising for me to feel this way as I thought by now I'd (almost) seen it all [;)]

AI does not vary its own setup.
