Scenarios/Map

Post by Joe Kemper »

Thanks for the continued work on this great game!
I was wondering if all of the scenarios are ready to go. I think that before only the 1941 scenario had been changed.
Also, could you tell me what changes were made to the map in 3.0.

Finally, when I looked at the 1943 set up (which I believe starts at the time of the Kursk battle) I noticed there were no Panther tanks. That may be correct but I thought I read somewhere that was the first use of those tanks ( maybe about 300). If that's the case I'm not sure what units used them.

Thanks again for the work on this game.

Thanks, Joe,

All the scenarios have been changed to the new ratings that the game is designed to work with. I don't know all the specific changes to the map, especially between versions, but from the pre-Matrix version to now, there are extra city hexes for the larger cities, Crimean changes, rail for Kharkov east removed, other rails rearranged, Baku moved south, a couple of rivers moved around, and others.

There are just under 200 Panthers in the 1943 campaign attached to two battalions (51st and 52nd) in the 48th Pz Korps, just south of Kursk. I believe these were under the tactical control of Gross Deutschland (did I spell that right???) as some of my sources said that division had the Panthers, but the one with full strength listings showed it set up this way, so that is what I did. The SS Panzer Korps also had a few Panthers, but it was hard to shoehorn them into the divisions there.
