tentative suggestion

Does anyone think it might be worthwhile to include a feature wherein a platoon or company or whatever could be detached from its normal Chain of Command and attached to another unit? For example, take a platoon of infantry from its company and attach it to a tank company? Said infantry wouldn't suffer any penalties for distance from its original HQ, but maybe there could be a slight delay in processing orders issued to it? It'd allow for the formation of adhoc units.

Great idea! If infantry was in the game, that is...I think once the devs model infantry, your idea will be implemented...

No. I don't wanna take things in that direction.

Infantry are already in the game (I got a copy, and I understand the abstract representation).

I don't care if they have their own counters, personally. If they're represented by a Marder IFV, Bradley, or whatever, mech infantry units are mech infantry units.

What I want is to have a company of tanks, and detach a platoon of IFVs from their parent unit so they can be tacked on to the MBT command.

My original reply wasn't meant as a shot anyway...I was merely responding to what you posted which was specifically directed at infantry...next time, be more clear then...what do you want me to say?

Point being is that my first response was to keep this thing on track. There are gamers here who have driven across their point about the representation of infantry. I didn't want the thread to go there, so there shouldn't have been a problem with my saying so. Didn't need to be any clearer than the original post because Infantry IS here. Just not the way some people want

Not angry...not upset...just confused about how it got to name calling. Whether or not yer going to agree, coming in and "palling" someone comes across as pissy.
