I kinda like WNLB's AI. Granted, it does do stupid stuff at times, but on the harder levels it is a challenge. (and fun to play against.)

Which had the best AI between CC and SP. I think the CC series had the best AI. Afterall Gentlemen, it was smart enough to always pick tanks![:D]

Ok I would ask that you guys not use abbreviations, there might be some prospective newbie wargamers reading this thread and CC SC WNLB won't quite give them a direction of what game has good AI's.

On a note here I just reloaded X-Com Terror from the Deep and I certainly don't remember it being that "hard". Even on the Veteran level I was getting smoked. I don't remember that many aliens in the early game for small ship discoveries. Cripes 10 of those sukers in some of them and everyone of them tossing those pulsar grenades.

Then I moved down to experienced and just lost 9 out of 14 instead of the whole squad. lol It was one of those terror missions. Once again, a bunch of aliens. I wonder with that XP patch if they didn't beef up the amount of aliens per battle somehow? I just don't remember that many or it being this hard on veteran and especially not as hard on experienced.

If you have XP and want to relive the X-Com days, underdogs has an upgraded version for XP now.

What game have you played that you thought had the "worst" AI?

I am not sure, pretty hard to get worse than the one in Axis & Allies (Hasbro release). I don't know why Larry Harris claimed if you are an average A&A player you're going to get BEAT by the AI. Maybe he was forced at gun point, or trying to increase sales, or on narcotics at the time. Someone else have any better theories?

Worst AI - the suicidally stupid 'friendly' AI in 'World War 3: Black Gold'. No matter what orders you give, as soon as one of your units spots an enemy it goes chasing after it. Playing the American campaign is less of a problem since you can mine more oil and buy more units but in the Russian campaign you start with a set level of money to spend so it's a real pain. It's a shame because all other aspects of the game are rather good.

Best AI - 'Highway to the Reich'! Although I've now played it so many times that I'm too aware of its failings as well as its strengths.

X-Com Terror from the Deep was a real step up from the previous game, they started using granades

Fritz 8 is probably the best AI in a game, but I don't know if they count. There are of course games where the AI can't be beat too, e.g. Othello

Of the Matrix games I've played I would say "Highway to the Reich" has the best AI.

I would have to agree with "Highway to the Reich" having the best AI of any wargame I own.
