This game is well worth the cash! I have never played a game this amount since the early SSI days. Don't look at the price, think of the money it saves you because you won't need to go out and buy other games which will end up on a shelf or in a box after a few sessions. This puppy has staying power and the devs are always adding a few things here, tweaking something there and fixing any problems which may come up. And for a game this size, it is rather trouble free. Then add all the work the forum community does and man...you are getting a very cost effective return on your money.

I paid about 50 bucks for UV and have been playing it steady since it came out. Close to three years. WITP is the same but better. Now, I just paid 50 bucks for Half Life 2. Its a beautiful game and I have been playing it a lot. However, in six months I know I will be tired of it. If you like wargames then WITP is the granddaddy.

It's your decision, of course, but if you've serious interest in the period then this is the only game in town. Indeed, my feeling is Matrix/2By3 priced it rather conservatively. I'm dead sure most of its users would have paid more without so much as a murmur.

Both Matrix and GG (not Joel--sorry, Joel [:D]) have excellent track records for after-market support of their products. Throw in the work of third-party developers and WitP is hands down cheap at its price.

Look at it this way. WitP has years of intrinsic playability in it. Now just think for a minute and see if you can say that honestly about very many other recreational-software titles. So if you don't buy it all you stand to gain is an afternoon's work, whereas you'll be out countless hours of . . . shall we say, satisfaction?

One other plus. You're bound to meet some interesting people in the forum if you should decide to plunge. Hell, you might even learn something in the process.

Assuming all that's true (and it is), what's not to like about WitP? At its price it's cheap!

I'd say for me it is worth several thousand ( USD ) ... versus the "give a way" price of $70 USD ... boy are Matrix and 2by3 getting ripped by us !

Realistically, yes. However, I think their choice to peg the price at $70 absolutely nailed the psychological "won't buy it!" limit; any higher and sales would suffer, IMO.[:)]

I playing WiTP last five months and never touch any other game (are other games exist???). Make simple calculation.

I know 70 bucks seems to much, but look at the forum. You will find plenty of people from East Europe (Poland, Croatia....) where average salary (per month) is much lower then canadian average month salary.

My only concern is how to "conserve" my computer in next 20 years. I want to play WiTP next for couple of decades.

I figure I could keep on spending 40-50 bucks US for a game that gets finished in a week or pay $70 for a game that will take months or years to finish without losing interest.

Simply Yes. Buy most other games, you'll play them once or twice all the way through then shelve them. Witp you will be play for years. I'm on my third run though the campaign as allies after restarting for oob patches, and loving every minute. This it not some soldier sim shot em up or clone RTS. If you have UV and liked UV you will love this, if you don't and your not sure about WITP by UV and play it.

The game is actually worth it, the first game i bought in years (boorlegg everything else). Recently played knights of the old republick 2, and that games is certainly NOT worth the 42 dollars + PP that is asked for it.....

Is it really true that Katherine Hepburn lived in Arnhem during the war?

Just thought that maybe a local would know. She was one of my favorite actresses.[:)]

You drink a beer (or soda) you go to the bathroom an pee it away. Same holds true for an other form of entertainment dollars (movie night , DVDs, CDs smokes, etc, etc). This game has staying power and is very cheap entertainment on a per hour played basis or reading about it here on the forum. And, it always there, even in the middle of the night if your crazy like me (2:17 AM US Pacific coast time).

If you are the least bit interested in the SUBJECT and the big picture ,not shootem ups, this is the only game in town (an you don't need the quickness and reactions of a 20 to 30 year old[:D])
