Hi. I'm an old hand boardgamer/pcGamer that first played WIR back in 94/5 (Ver 1?) and i'm wondering how to find people to play the game with by e-mail. I am quite happy to play the USSR as i think i can crunch all you Axis
neophytes without too much trouble (HeHe).
(Hey,i'm no socialist twit.But you must take the germans as a 'whole'. They had a superlative army with a majority of the best operational and tactical commanders this species has ever produced. Yet while in the position to carve out a permanent niche for germany as a world power they blew it because the blind stupidity of the feudal Nazi system.
Maybe thats the attraction, a great army with nincompoops at the top, could you do better?)

Can someone give advice?

PS To Mist You want music for WIR. Try Shostokovitch. Russian composer who produced his best symphonies DURING the siege of Leningrad :)

I took that name because of I always admired his defensive prowess during the war. What he did to Zhukov during the battle of the Kustrin bridgehead was a textbook case of creating kill zones and defense in depth to neutralize a numerically superior opponent.

If your still looking for an email opponent I might be game for that, having never played this game against a human opponent. You may reply to me by private email if you choose to take me up on the offer. I will admit I've never had some of the astonishing results that with the Germans that I've seen reported in the various threads. So I don't know how tough a contest for you it will be.

Thanx, Loki! The first thing I've tried to find was Shostakovich's 7th Symhony. The problem is that I want it in mp3 format! Can anyone help?

I'd love to play someone via email.....let me know if your interested
Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away;
Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.
You better watch out,
There may be dogs about
I've looked over Iraq, and i have seen
Things are not what they seem.
