researching new OB for 41' start, need some information.

Post by Possum »

Hello All.
I'm currently going over the OBWIR and I have identified some inconsistencies that I'm trying to unravell, and I am having no luck finding information on the following units.
1) the Soviet Air Divisions that make up the 6th PVO Air corps in June '41.
2) Soviet Air Transport Divisions in June '41
3) What Sovied Air Divisions where transferred from the Far east (if any) '41 to '43.
4) The names of the Tank regiments assigned to the Soviet Cavalry divisions in June '41.
5) The names of the Soviet Airborn Corps Tank Regiments in June '41
6) What were the Soviet Air Divisions opperating the Yak-4 & Il-8 in June'41
7) Is it possible to add extra nationalities, or is that hard coded? ( I want to add Slovakia, Poland, & Yugoslavia)
8) The names of the SU regiments assigned to the various Tank & Mech corps in early '43
9) Is there any way to alter the nationality of an air group, so I can place all the germas together, all the Italians together, & all the Rumanians together & add the Slovakian A/F?
I'm basically re-organizing the OOB to be compleatly Alphanumerical, and adding a few new regiments & Battalions. Oh, and many new Aircraft and Tanks.
I was planning on introducing the following new tanks: T-38, T-40, T-50, BT-8, Sherman 76, Alter Sherman to Sherman 75, Alter Valentine to Valentine III, Valrentine IX, Matilda II, M3 Stuart, Panther G, Pz-IVf2 (Heavy tank), Alter Panther to Panther A, T-44, T-80.
I was also planning on adding the following aircraft : Il-8, Il-8 ASh-82, Li-2, Yak-4, Pe-3, Alter I-15 to I-15bis, I-153, Alter I-16 to I-16 SPB, Mig-7, Yak-9B, Spitfire V,
Yer-2bis, Ta-152, Do-335, Re-2000, Ju-87R, Alter Ju-87 to Ju-87B, IAR-80, IAR-37, Blenheim, SM-79, La-9, alter Yak 9 to Yak-9M.
Any suggestions or assistance appreciated.
Also, would people be interested obtaining a copy of this OB?
PS. I know about Ordersofbattle.darkscape.net but I can't access the site( I'v tried joining, but I still keep being kicked out), so could someone who is a member please copy for me their data on the oob's of russian and axis for June 1941?
"We're having a war, and we want you to come!"
So the pig began to whistle and to pound on a drum.
"We'll give you a gun, and we'll give you a hat!"
And the pig began to whistle when they told the piggies that.

This is hard coded. As far as the game is concerned, every unit is either Axis or Soviet. You can't for example represent the attack on Poland, as Poland was attacked by both sides.

You should be able to do this.

....
long list of tanks and planes
....

That's an awful lot, I don't know, you might not have enough room for factories for all these types. When you add these tank types do not move slots 60-63, game expects those "generic" items to be in those slots.

The rest I can't help you with.

Well for starters leave the german Do335 out. Unless the war goes to late 45/46. This is a strategic game, small numbers of advanced types will have NO effect on the war. Yes i know the diehards will say 'hey Me 262's and Comets shot down quite a few bombers' but did that really alter anything? In the long run it is the strategy that counts and the idiotic Nazi system was strategically bankrupt as soon as they decided to attack the USSR. They had a chance in late 40 early 41 to become a world power, lucky for us that they blew it.
