Matrix Games and Simulations Canada combine and completely remake two classic NATO vs. Warsaw Pact wargames into a new classic. Based on the original wargames “Main Battle Tank: North Germany” and “Main Battle Tank: Central Germany”, Flashpoint Germany is a new grand tactical wargame of modern combat. Every aspect of modern grand tactical warfare is included, from advanced armor, air and helicopters to chemical and tactical nuclear weapons. Step into the most dangerous war.. . that never was.

Two questions:
1) Rename folder to .zip ? The file i dd'd is a text file but no .txt after it, i assume adding a .zip is enough? I do this all the time[8|][;)] sorry!
2) The only changes are the "unit counters" right? I am not too comfortable with "backing up" files when i can just re-install if need be eg: new bug etc. So if i like what i see, which i do[&o], it's a done deal.

After downloading the revised file...[;)]

1) Yes, rename the downloaded file to "FPG Unit Counters2.zip".
2) Yes, this only changes the unit counter vehicle silhouettes.

Hopefully all is well now.

I guess i'm in over my head[&:], i changed it to .zip as well as .bml but it just adds a text file to the FPG graphics folder. Note: when i dd this file(revised[;)]) it is not a zip file, ergo i cannot "unzip" it to "x" directory where it would ask if i want to "overwrite" said file, i can only cut and paste. Thanks for your help though[:D]. The file needs to be a "bml" file but i can only open it with notepad. I have dd'd all of Volcano Man's stuff for HPS PnzrCmpns but you just had to choose the file to "extract to" and voila...maybe there will be a simplified version for the PC impaired[;)].

When you click on the attached file you should get a dialog that says:
1. FPG Unit Counters2.txt

Click that and it opens a save dialog with some name (letters and numbers on my system.txt)
SAVE this file to your FPG Graphics folder. It should still have the garbage.txt name.
Change this file to have a .zip extension instead of .txt.
You should be able to now unzip this file. which will have the .bml extension. If done right the unzipped file should be 532k in size (the zipped ??.txt file is 50k).
From here you should be good to go.

Hope this helps you out. At some point I'll figure out how to upload to a site for these items or figure a way to use a part of my Red baron site (co-owned, need to get permission).

Marc,

I'm checking things out. The database entry and counter sil ID' s look okay. I've got one other possible error source to check. I'll let you know.

EDIT: Everything looks good from a data standpoint. What scenario are you playing?

[:D]Okay...got it! I should have known to...put this there, change that here[8|][;)]. Needless to say i know Marc didn't have any problems[:'(]. Nice work Cap'n, thank you for going the extra mile for me[&o]. I look forward to having the Id's changed in the future for the full effect, and maybe some unique counter backgrounds a la BiN (skull & crossbones etc.)...i know, i know, give 'em an inch and they want a mile[:)]
