That it does, Mist, that it does. In fact, my choiche of words would probably be "Butt-ugly"! I just could not find any way to connect the rails properly without using the 4-way crossings for three-way intersections. The result works, but reeks from an aesthetic point of view.

I like your changes regarding the rail lines in the Baltic area, by the way. I've been working to incorporate something similar on my map.

It's great for people who know what they're doing, computer-wise, though.
Heh! Never do that, man. I have abandoned WiR playing and f$ck with the mapper instead. Pleasure is below average :) but I can't stop regardless that no one except me will accept that major changes of the rail-map. Though I use reliable source. I am just going to play on this map myself.

Not so, Mist. I agree with most of your rail changes, especially the Riga-Tallin line and the Novorossiysk-Batumi line. Keep up the good work!

I have just redone my map AGAIN and am currently updating the scenarios (was planning to include the corrected aircraft cannon values too). The SET MAP f***s up the factory settings though, so I have to keep saving Factory data fragments... sigh!

Thanx! But those are "minor changes" ;)
I've redone most of railroads and changed rivers in Moscow-Gorki area. There is a big difference between WiR version and the real one.

I like your idea of cannon ratings for Bf110's. Good planes, they are virtualy useless in official scenario data.

Ops! It realy does it!!!

Hey Mist and Yogi,

Both of you keep up the good work. I for one appreciate the work you guys are doing and would definitely consider playing either one of you on your maps once the next update is out, which is looking like in about 3 weeks - a week for Arnaud to finish and a couple of weeks to test it. Could be sooner or later than that.

On the Set Map problem, I was beginning to notice that myself. Is it like messing up the current factories, from what you guys notice, setting them to the upgrade types called for later in the game? I've been working on a scenario with the Soviets attacking the Germans at the end of 1941. I moved up the Tiger production on purpose, tweaked some other equipment dates, greatly increased the Soviet experience and readiness while dropping manpower levels, and suddenly the Axis factories were set to Konigstigers and Jagd Panthers, etc and I suspected the Set Map or some other editing function caused it. Give me some details about what you have noticed and we can pass it on to Arnaud to look at.

Anyway, thanks for sharing what you guys are doing. Do what feels right and it probably will be right.

Thanks Ricky!

As far as I can tell, using SET MAP sometimes causes factories to move up one step in the upgrade chain: PzIIIh will become PzIIIj, PzIIIm will become StuGIIIg etc. Also, all future factories are deployed.
This happened when updating the 41 and 43 scenarios, but not with the 42, for some reason.

Thanks, Yogi. That ties out further with what I noticed late last night. I really hosed the scenario I have been working on playing with the set map function, and not using a sample copy to screw up. Basically, I played with different dates in late 1941 and early 1942 for my scenario start date - partly because every time I use 12/30/1941 I get a mud turn rather than blizzard, quite odd and I think part of the problem with the factories. By the time I was done and saved it, every armored unit was changed to the latest AFV type in its upgrade type, all late arriving armored battalion/regiment was on map, including the Soviet tank corps SPG regiments that were scheduled for 2 years out, IS IIIs were on map, etc.

Thus, it seems to be connected in some way to changing the date to non-standard days using the in-game editor possibly - I was too disgusted with myself to try out changing dates in the separate editwir program to see if the same thing happened since I used the set map function in updating the original scenarios and never had any problems with the factories. Blew away many hours of work also on changing things in my scenario - oh well at least I printed out what I had.

Looks like this will require quite a bit of digging and experimenting to solve this one.

Thanks guys.

Yogi and all,

After playing with this further and seeing what happens, this definitely happens by changing the scenario start date using the in-game editor. Change the start date and everything upgrades, both factories and tank units. I cannot get anything to happen just by running the Set Map function, but there may be further to it. Anyway, anybody else have any ways of reproducing this problem with the factories and/or tank units?

Negative, RickyB, I did NOT change the start date in any case, since I was simply doing some minor updating to the standard campaign scenarios. In my case, this problem came from SET MAP.

I think the three extra railways (from Odessa, Batumi and through the kuban peninsuala) are excellent.
Any chance of putting astrakhan back in.$
I liked having astrakhan in the original amiga version. Never reached as German but rounded off that corner nicely instead of having the two railways leading nowhere.
