No mouse control.

Post by bothered »

Hi Guys,
I've looked all over the forum and can't find an answer. I can't use the mouse to control my flight direction. I've pressed the ~ key, I've turned auto off (m key) I've had an email from Milo telling me to set the mouse to mouselook. I've tried everything and the mouse still has no effect on my direction, it will fire weapons but that's all. I'm using an MX700 mouse, Windows XP pro with an ATI 9800 pro, AMD XP3200 CPU and 1Gb RAM. Anybody got any ideas before I give up? [:@]

I don't know if you tried all these, but maybe you didn't.

Does the mouse work for other functions in game other than firing weapons? Does it move the cursor? If it does, make sure that AUTO NAV is not turned on in the HUD. For example, On the right side of your HUD your should see NAV 1. With your mouse, click on NAV 1 until it cycles from NAV 1 to AUTO NAV 1 and back. You want AUTO off. Then press ~ . Does your mouse cursor disappear when you do that? It should. At this point, you should be able to turn your ship.

Thanks seefue, that was the info I needed. It seems a very complicated game but at least I can now move about.
Thanks again.

On the subject of mouse flight...
milo, could you make it so you can't click on HUD objects while in mouse flight? I generally waste 2-3 decoys because I accidentally launch them and I often go into autonav at highly inopportune times.
