I upgraded my video card just because of this game and found the 128MB Nividia card made all the difference in the world....where some of you may have issues with will be if you want to run the game on your notebooks...there are plenty of decent notebooks out there that can handle this game...unfortunately for me, this is not the case as my SONY VAIO has only a 4MB video chip installed...I know when I upgrade my notebook, I'll make a note of the video chip/card installed because this game begs to be played on one!....[:)]

Direct X C?, my Alienware rig meets the recommended stats but i cannot upgrade from 9.0B to 9.0C. It is an "internal error" per microsoft and any attempts to re-install have come up empty. Yes, i have followed all suggestions thru the troubleshooter, and any recent games with 9.0C on them just install like i already have it (been detected).
Just thought i might ask here since you guys might know a little more than me[;)], if i have to call someone in before WAW so be it[8|]. DXDIAG shows i have one "old file" which "could cause problems" but i have none...yet, it just won't upgrade. Any help would be appreciated but i know you guys have better things to do[:D].

No, only XP or 2000.

You could just try running it under Direct X 9.0 B.

I really doubt a game like this is using any of the breakthrough stuff in C like advanced pixel shading or level 7 antialiasing or some crap like that.

They probably only say 9.0 C because its the latest version.

Just my 2 cents, but I bet it will work fine with 9 B.

I’m just getting so tired of looking at my troops in RTW with pointy arms and legs now & days.

You should see RTW in true wide screen, it is staggering! [8D]

Try a tool called "DirectX Eradicator" ( http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=626 ),to uninstall the current DirectX version you have (seems to be corrupted in a way). Then reinstall DirectX 9c.

You trying to install as a different user then that which installed it? I assume being an Alienware rig it's fairly new and running XP ... Came preloaded with everything under the sun?

Grab the *complete* installer, not just the web installer part and try it.

[&o]Thanks Alot guys, i am touched by your efforts[:)]. I am in the process of re-formatting as there was an apparent problem since Windows Service Pack 2 that i wasn't aware of.
Alienware customer service is superb, i was afraid to call after my experience with Dell and Gateway over the years[8|], but they got me on the right path in 20 minutes. Now i just have to [X(]re-install[X(] my extensive collection of Matrix products. My PC is all fresh and clean...ready for WAW.
Again, many thanks![:D]
P.S. Hurry up guys, i have nothing on my PC and it's probably too late to start a new Witp campaign[;)] (note to self:back-up cd's are useful)
