Teleporting Aircraft

Post by Greyshaft »

I've been dipping into this game now and again... strangely addictive but I've found a few problems.

Playing as the allies on turn one (after PH attack) I gather up some aircraft from Malay Penninsula - Jitra, Singapore etc and transfer them to Mandalay to start forming the second line of defence. I put them on training mode and leave them there. The next turn they are back at their original bases on the Penninsula. I have HQ control set for full Human control and I had enough PP to do the transfers.

Same thing happens with aircraft gathered from Australia and SW Pacific islands and sent to Port Moresby and Lae. They happily transfer to those bases but when I run the turn they teleport back to their original positions.

Any ideas?

I have never noticed anything like that if the HQ's were under full human control. I know ground units will migrate to their HQ's on their own but I have not noticed air units doing the same.

I have never seen this with HQs under human control in a regular game. But in my modded version I had the Flying Tigers moving on their own from Kunming to Australia, but I attributed that to Kunming being under North CAC control while this HQ wasn't activated yet (i.e. didn't show up on the HQ list) but apparently was working 'undercover' on full computer control. Re-ran the turn with North CAC set to full human control and the migrating stopped. So maybe you have a hidden HQ at work, compare base alliances with HQ list, maybe you find a 'ghost HQ', too.

Nor did I see ground units migrating on their own - just changing HQ alliance on their own and new units sometimes showing up at the HQ location rather than at SanF.

Have you changed all the HQ controls to full human? If you don't the HQ will redeploy as it see's fit. Also when new HQ enter the game they enter with full AI control and will also start moving untis about. It would be nice to have the default HQ control to be full human.

Another point is that it is possible for an HQ to be at a base controlled by a higher level HQ. For instance, 14th Army can appear under Computer Control at a base belonging to SEAC under Human Control. Clicking on the base will not reveal this situation: 14th Army HQ will be invisible except when using the "Find an HQ" function.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?
