Best scenario for a beginner?

Post by Duke71 »

I got WitP a week ago and I'm still learning the game. I have played UV for a couple of years, and I'm still having an UV PBEM game running.

My question is; Which scenario in WitP is good for learning the game? I've tried Rising Sun as the Allies vs. the AI but I feel it's a bit one-sided against the Allies. And to be honest; The equipment is not good...[;)]

Is there some of the other scenarios that is good for me?
And is there possible to change the sounds in WitP to the sounds in UV? I liked them better...[8D]

Go to Spooky site (Google spooky WITP) and you will find lot of sound designed by players among other things.

The best scenrio for absolute beginners is (as in UV) Coral Sea, but if you are experienced in UV you can go directly to the Guadalcanal scenario or the big campain staring on 1st May 1942.

WITP is not UV, a lot of gaming mechanisms changed and the scale is really different. You have to plan big operations months in advance because ships will take months to bring troops and supplies there.

If you're coming from UV, I'd recommend the Guadalacanal Campaign. It's going to be familiar to you, and you'll be able to get your feet wet already having an reasonable grasp of objectives.

I'd suggest the Guadalcanal scenario too [;)]
Soldiers generally win battles; generals get credit for them.

Play Mogami in a pbem game, that should straighten you out.[;)][;)], just look at what he's doing to our favorite Canadien.
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Thanks. I've started the Guadalcanal scenario and it looks allright. The only difference is the map and some of the landforces compared to UV.

But some time I have to learn the cope with the Japanese production... [8|]
