Civil War Game

Post by diesel7013 »

Frank,

Just wanted to know what the "preliminary" timetable for your Civil War game will be?

If I may be so bold as to offer some ideas on what I'd like to see...

Just like Sumter to Appomatox - start on a Brigade Level with the ability to attach these to Divisions and then attach the Divisions to Corps... Sort of like Danube where you can detach and reattach divisions to the Corps.

I'd love to also have leaders named on a brigade level - which is a level below StoA - but I think would make it "more fun" from a grognad point of view...

I'd also like to see the combat results resolved on a man/gun/supply level - sort of like StoA - but maybe on a bit more detailed level...

From the map standpoint - much like StoA - but I'd like to see more cites and towns listed - if only to make cavalry raids ect... something interesting to do..

Naval warfare - abstracted would be fine - but with leaders added for bonuses for movement, combat, sighting, engagement, ect...

Okay - so, am I picky enough?? I'm just a pitiful game player and sure hope that I didn't come off as too pushy![:D][:D]

Finally, if there is anything I could do to help from a research or testing standpoint, please let me know, as I'd love to help.

P.S. - Can't wait to buy Guns of August as well!!!

Actually I used to have the "to do" list for RFSTA on my own Adanac site before I shut it down. I promise to repost it once GOA goes out and a forum for RFSTA is opened up.

Hey Frank, I just thought of one thing you could add to your to do list. I've noticed that my version of the editor for RFSTA doesn't work in XP. This is kinda frustrating when you're trying to create mods while running XP. Just a thought.
