OT - is this DVD box worth it?

Post by tonyingesson »

I found a rather cheap DVD box in an online store, it has 50 movies and documentaries on 12 DVD's for $35. I checked a bunch of the movies and they pretty much seem to be crap, but I'm curious about the documentaries, it would be nice to see lots of PTO footage.

Here's list of contents:

• Go For Broke
• Gung Ho
• War Head
• The Devil's Cavaliers
• Escape From Angola
• The Mark of the Hawk
• The Proud of the Damned
• Yellowneck
• Three Came Home
• The Torch
• Hell in Normandy
• The Adventures of Tartu
• Captain Scarlett
• The Last Chance
• The Bushwackers
• This is the Army
• Kansas Pacific
• The Avenger
• Blood on the Sun
• Flying Blind
• Eagle in the Cage
• The Big Lift
• The Memphis Belle - Documentary
• Appointment in Tokyo - Documentary
• The Battle of Britain - Documentary
• Divide and Conqueri - Documentary
• The Battle of China - Documentary
• The Battle of Russia - Documentary
• Desert Victory - lDocumentary
• The Great Battle jof the Volga i-j Documentary
• Prelude To War - Documentary
• The Nazis Strike - Documentary
• Attack in the Pacific - Documentary
• Attack! - The Battle for New Britain - Documentary
• After Mein Kampf - Documentary
• Nuremberg Trials - Documentary
• The Secret Life of Adolf Hitler - lDocumentary
• Combat America - Documentary
• December 7, 1941 - Documentary
• Payoff in the Pacific - Documentary
• True Glory - Documentary
• Tunisian Victory - Documentary
• The KGB Connections - Documentary
• Report from the Aleutians - Documentary
• The Stilwell Road - Documentary
• Submarine Warfare - Documentary
• Thunderbolt - Documentary
• To the Shores of Iwo Jima - Documentary
• Marines at Tarawa - Return To Guam - Documentary
• The Battle of San Pietro - Documentary.

I'm not that good at PTO matters yet, I only started learning about the PTO after getting WitP a few months ago. Do you think it's worth buying?

hours upon hours of watching when you could be reading. Then again, good history books are so dam expensive.

Yeah, but you can have the DVD playing on the tube in the background whilst playing WITP. I often have either documentaries or war movies playing on the tube while I try to stem the yellow tide...

hmmm . . . never thought of that. I might try it. And considering the number of films in the above DVD set and the length of the game, one would get to watch (or hear) the movies and documentaries several times.

So, yeah, tonyingesson, buy away.

As a matter of fact, the History Channel is playing Tora, Tora, Tora while we speak. Time to get WITP up and running...[8D]

I thought so too. [:D]

That's why I was asking about the documentaries. I've already bought a bunch of PTO books and finished them, I thought it could be nice to see some footage.

Maybe you have John Ford documentary on Midway and the one simulating the attack on Pearl.
