ARs don't work the same way repair points do. One AR makes the port seem one level bigger for purposes of repairing 4 ships (I think I finally have this right). Repair points at a repair shipyard give a ship that has already repaired one damage point normally during that turn at that port, a chance to repair a second damage point that same turn. If the second point is successfully repaired, repair points are expended equal to the durability of the ship. This use of repair points is the only way a ship can repair more than one damage point in a single turn.

Ok, that means if I have no dock but a AR in the port my ships will be repaired 4 damage point in one turn?

No, the chance to repair a point of damage depends on several factors, the most important of which seems to be the size of the port. Bigger is better. If you have an AR in a size 3 port, all that means is that 4 ships will have a chance of repairing as if they were in a size 4 port.

You can only repair one point per ship per day, unless you are in a repair port with repair points available. Then, assuming you repaired one point this turn, you have a chance to repair one additional point.

So it does no good to keep the ARs at Pearl since it is alreay a size 10 port?

I believe that even at a size 10 port an AR will speed repair by enhancing the chance that a ship will get additional damage points removed. However, I also seem to recall that there is a limit to the benefit of having too many ARs in one port.

These repair point questions always persist. Maybe there needs to be a sticky on how shipyard repair and ARs work. [;)]

As I understand it max you can stack AR is 4? Any more are a waste.
