Hmm, a 70ton 50kph assault titan? It's got a huge profile (it's an assault chassis), it won't go unnoticed. With 10 MGs and only 2.43C/sec? The Piranha has 7 MGs and similar heat diss and has heat problems, which is the reason it has the best scanner and computer, so it can finish off opponents very quickly before heat starts to build up. This one has minimal scanner and bc. The cost is that of a medium too.

What class would that be BTW? [;)]

Well, yeah, it could be done better. The main problm it has is that anything in its weight category has too easy of a time staying out of range -- I ahd to chase an Exhuminator all over the map in playtest.

It's not a design I'd use regularly, mainly just something to throw a psychological wrench into things in multiplayer games. ("2 assaults against 3 mediums? Run away, run away!")

Think I'll try rebuilding it wih some longer reach in its guns.

Oops, some confusion there. You mentioned medium titans, and didn't reference the design in any way, so I assumed it was the last one mentioned.
Anyways, the Abraxas does sport a TB, which is the weapon to have against shielded opponents [:D] And it does have good JPs.

Tell me if you have any comments on this design. I have used this one as a long range support for titans that have to close up with the enemy, the Cougar will stay at medium range to inflict the best damage. If you use the 2 large lasers to often, the heat will build up quicker than you might think. Also, the Cougar should avoid any close combat fighting!

Well the Tornado does look a bit like the Guruni [;)]

As for the Cougar, that kind of weaponry on a light will surely overheat it badly. You only have -2.54C/sec, which is not even enough for half the firepower. Each LL needs ~2C/sec. Check out the Penetrator light design, which packs 2 LLs, and dissipates -3.45C/sec. It looks like a support though, but still one of the LLs could be dropped for more efficiency.

I kinda like it -- but you can trade a large laser for a SRM rack..
Heat will definitely be an issue, but putting millennia armor on the legs will improve it a lot. Also, Dullaroy is generally best for the head.

Also, looks more efficient to put the missile racks in the arms.


Try this variation. Due to weight limits I changed the components a little, but the armor is much thicker.
