The ultimate wargame, my dream

Post by Kuniworth »

If the game-makers only could listen to me on this point;

Imagine....

You fight ww2 in europe....
The wir concept is in use on a full scale europe map...
with all the armys and division of all the coutries....
with navys.....
with production....
with diplomacy....

And all this with some nice graphics and sound.

Why cant I have this! Why is only High command, War in europe, third reich and clash of steel out there....

If a game-maker read this; please make us a decent strategic ww2 game. Its a market for it, this forum proves that!

I don't know about that. Compare traffic on this forum to SPWaW? There are a LOT more people out there interested in tactical games rather than strategic games.

Personally, I'm holding out hope for World in Flames.

YES 'World in Flames' was a great game.
Oh dear. I'm going to cry.

This answers some people's dreams, but not mine. This sounds like massively multiplayer tactical combat while in the last few posts we've been talking about grand strategic wargames.

I agree with Ed

This is a tactical game for tankHeads with, i bet you a bunch of strings to link Tac games together to make it look strategic.
Do they think we believe that they have mapped the entire world down to First person
shooter resolution??
As far as i can see from recent searching
the 'World in Flames' Computer game is the only runner and it looks good. It is soon to be released in a player only version with a Human/Comp version to follow latter.

Ever since I got Western Front,I had a dream that they would combine it with Second Front into one game. I can imagine how great this game would be based on the WIR engine. I wrote SSI back in late 91 or early 92 about the idea and was written back that they might be working on such a game. Course as we know now it never happend.
