Idiots

Post by HercMighty »

Customer review from ebgames.com:

Richard Bruns: "You just won't believe me; but you will never see this game. Matrix does not publish games; they just publishe titles that never see the light of day. Its been pushed back how many time?"

Where do people come up with this stuff. 90% of my games come from Matrix and I am 100% satisfied with my purchases. And I have this one on Pre-order with EBgames. I find I have more problems with them as of late getting there shipping and stocking issues resolved than I do with Matrix.

The problem with EBgames and Software ETC. is that there moving to all console games just like every other computer/console store. The time of computer games in these places are coming to an end.

No thought needed for console games. Just run or drive until dead then start over.

Heck I have X-box and I hardly use it because I'm into strategy games, And not teaching my kids how to steal a car.

EB "reviews" are equivalent to the worst online forum imaginable. Anyone can just go there and post whatever random crap is on their mind. It would be good for a laugh if it wasn't for the fact that companies can be damaged by it.

The person is obviously not too sharp. He screwed up his own joke. I imagine he meant to type his name
in as Richard BURNS, not Bruns. You can figure it out.

Heh, yeah and customers should take class actions suits against game companies and developers for putting out crappy games as well. And remember the "agreements" are written "inside the box", so a customer has no idea about the agreements and license policies of the game until they open it, which then causes it to no longer be available for return if a customer disagrees with the policies. Whatever happened to "customer satisfaction guaranteed?"

This has led me to question the increasing rise of piracy, have the developers and publishers themselves caused many gamers to move to piracy. I know I am reading more and more on various forums that people are downloading the full game to find out if they like it or not, then if it's a pretty good game with few bugs and issues, they say they go out and buy it. I'm starting to believe these people, since they have literally become forced to seek other means of making sure they are "satisfied". Illegal of course, but, in many ways, I see game developers and publishers ripping customers off with a no refund/no return policy because they are sooooooo worried that people will buy the game, copy it and then return the retail version. When in all probability this has led to "increased piracy".

Myself, I have taken another "legal" avenue of approach to buying games, it's called patience and researching the reviews and forums, and then waiting for Ebay or Amazon.com to have a listing for the game at a reduced price. I actually think this is the way customers should combat the buggy, flawed and generally not ready for release games, perhaps when sales are so low for the retail version, publishers will rethink their release policies and/or go out of business, but, that's not my concern. My concern is what value I get out of the game and how much frustration I eliminate by being patient and how much I save by being patient.

Lol I read in one license agreement" "You are not allowed to SELL or TRADE this game" lol that has to be the biggest joke of all. Now they are trying to tell us we don't even own the damn game. I can see Parker Brothers or Milton Bradley trying to pass off this bogus bs. That has to be the silliest thing I have ever read, if we implemented this into every commodity we would have a backyard full of junk. lol rofl at this one.

Let me give you a clue why that above policy is bogus. I'm sure you are well aware that people can go through your garbage out on a public road/sidewalk area. So, one just puts the game in the garbage, calls their friend and tells them "the GARBAGE is out" lol and oh can I borrow say oh $10, just leave it in the GARBAGE can! rofl lmao

Well I don't know. When I keep hearing that Paradox games are a bag of bugs I :

#1 Do not risk buying it.
#2 Do not even waste my time trying to warez it
#3 Avoid it altogether

Now, #3 is not exactly true, if I find it for a buck in the bargain bin, I MAY be tempted to snatch it just to check out what all the complaining was about.

At which point you will then go to the forums, find the latest patch/enhancement and be hooked...
Matrix and Paradox both produce wonderful games.

Yeah I don't know what it is about Paradox games that people find so un-appealing. The games they create have so much information packed in them, that they're going to have bugs. It's unavoidable. Ask any coder if I'm right on this. I've done my far share of coding and I can tell you this.

In addition, they stick by their games. Take a look at EU2. It's been out for a good 5 - 6 years now and they are still supporting the title.

Hi Guys

IF you can please post your reviews of our past games and World At War once you had a chance to play it on the forums at EBWorld and GameStop that would be a great help.

Two Thrones was kind of a "tease" to get non-history buff/non-grognards interested in the Paradox style of games. With all the other major games getting patched I doubt Two Thrones will ever get patched.
