COTA pricing?

Post by Willard »

Hi all-

Know you are all busy putting the finishing touches on COTA.
Had a couple of questions regarding the price of COTA.
A while back I remember reading a thread (HTTR forum?) regarding a possible increase in prices for some Matrix games.
In that discussion, COTA was mentioned as increasing in price...has a decision been made on this and has the price been announced?

How will this affect the following also:

-the price compare between cd/direct download??
-strategy guide ala HTTR?
-downloading COTA features into HTTR?

I just bought a house, so I am squirrelling away all my spare change for a rainy day...in this case it would COTA release day!!!! [:D] Anyway, just want to know what I need to target!!!

Thanks!!!

I have yet to confirm this with Matrix. I'll do so shortly and get back to you. Don't worry we won't be pricing COTA out of the market. There will be a US$10 difference between the digital download and the full boxed version. I have no plans on producing a strategy guide for COTA at this stage. The likely cost of the upgrade to HTTR will be a fraction of the cost of COTA for a digital download. Again I need to confirm this with Matrix. The HTTR upgrade won't be ready for some months after COTA's release.

Thanks for the quick reply!!!

I am looking forward to this release. If it is half as good as HTTR, than it will be awesome!!!
If that sounds too fanboyish...I don't care.

[&o]Now if you could throw in a little AA: Afrika Korps action I would be extremely happy...[&o]

hint...hint...hint...hint

The HTTR upgrade won't be ready for some months after COTA's release.

Does this mean that it's now a planned action, at least at some point in the future?

Thanks.

I for a moment thought it was strange to charge for an upgrade. But then I remembered posting elsewhere that I'd gladly pay SSG to upgrade their Korsun to Normandy standards - or dare I say, both to the forthcoming Italy standard.

So yes, if the coding changes and gameplay changes will be so extreme and positive to make HTTR a "new" game, I'll likely pay for an upgrade.

To quote Gomer Pyle: "This industra' is gettin' interestinger and interestinger".

Arjuna, was the strategy guide for HttR a success? I thought it was great and wish more wargames had them. It'd be a real shame if it didn't do well.

Banquet,

While we have sold quite a few it cost a lot of time and money to put together. So far we're struggling to break even on it.

A rather depressing sign of the times.

I notice that even Sonalysts Dangerous Waters isn't available in the shops. Don't people want thought provoking entertainment anymore? I'm starting to feel old

Keeping plugging away Arjuna. HttR is something special. CotA sounds like it will be awesome [:)]

Given how I'm doing in the tournament, looks like I'll be helping out with your profit margins... [;)]
