Hi, I believe mine.
Here is the problem. Ron when given bad news tends to pull out his service revolver and discharge the person bearing the bad news. So they lie to him.
Pretty sad when the only source of the truth is the enemy (Mogami shakes his head sadly)

There is something screwy with Rons machine or his files. I send prehaps 20 PBEM turns per day to various games and the only one that has repeated problems loading the files or with replays is Rons. I don't think he is running a stock version 1.40
Or he has a nasty TSR running that screws things up. Quite often he can't run the turn when I first send it. (Could that be his ISP download manager?)

Hi, OK listen up. The Japanese player does not see a replay. He sees the actual turn.
The replay file is supposed to be exactly the same. (at one time FOW made the replay change in places but that was removed a long time ago in UV and was never a part of WITP)
But that is why the combat.txt generated when the turn is run always matches what the japanese player sees.
Prior experiance for me has been when the Allied players replay does not match it is a version issue. (Erik Rutkins and myself discovered this way back in UV. When we were using different versions in testing. When both of us used the exact same files and versions there were no replay issues. Erik called it "out of sync"
As far as I know in the other 500+ PBEM turns I have sent out in my other current games there have been no (not one) "out of sync" issues.
Without precise data I can only guess that we are not using the same version.

Completely weird anyway considering mine is a 1.40 with SCs map mod and some new ship and aircraft art. That's why I always ask for your report.

why Japan so "late" in his achievements?

It's may in the game and Japan still didn't get Java, Palembang. Given the fact Japan didn't make any big advancements in other theaters, why's that?
In may, i would expect Japan to hold all SRA+Guadalcanal and at least Rangoon.

did japan get a bad CV battle ? or did it happen something unexpected?

Mogami does not use the ridiculous Japan first move bonus, which was included to get KB to Pearl Harbor but which is abused by players as an excuse to defy reality. No CV battles...yet.[;)]

ok, but even without exploiting the first turn, still Japan is late on Schedule. i mean, it's 6 months in the war, Japan should have already Java. If not, it means the bulk of SRA army has been used elsewhere...but can't understand where since Japan didn't advanace more than historical (and somewhere less than historical) in all other theathers are

Java is basically Japanese given the amount of men he landed, at huge cost in merchant and escorts however. Although I still "control" most of Java, this is for the very short term. I'd give Java a week or two until it is entirely Japanese. That leaves only a string of bases and Timor. Mogami may have started late but the DEI is almost completely Japanese. If Northern Australia was modelled properly, he would already have it.

Mogami continues to suffer grievous shipping losses, with the Allied air based at Java getting a helping hand from the coastal defence gunners at Tjilitjap. I'm a bit surprised at the sudden lack of Japanese fighter over Java but I;ll take the much needed break.

The AVG and a Chinese fighter squadron got their asses fed to them by the Japanese over Changsha, the first real setback for the AVG in the war.

Continued Java based air attacks hit ground and naval targets with impunity for another day. More Japanese naval losses with the submarines getting in a few shots. One, the KVII, has scored a hit on a transport twice in two days.

Bangkok endures a third day of uncontested air attacks, suffering more damage to the airfield and facilities.

The Dutch presence on Java is coming to an end, with the battle already decided. I'm attempting a fighting withdrawl to the eastern end of Java, a near impossible task given the current overly restrictive land combat model.

Frequent raids from the now Japanese base at Rabaul have chased whatever air presence I had stationed at Port Moresby. The DEI campaign has bled the air strength from the region so severely that I can't put up much of a fight.

I've had similar problems with my PBEM opponent. There are two types of problems:
1. The turn reports don't match. When this happens Japanese report is true one and this is not a serious issue.
2. Different report and turn generation results using the same turn file. This does not happen often, happened to me only a couple of times, but I was never been able to reproduce it. I am no longer generating turns twice (I was doing it while ZOC bug was an issue, which was happening when you saved games, so I was never saving turns while playing).

Japanese Merchant Losses as of June 7th, 1942

Post by Ron Saueracker »

Mogami's mercantile and military sealift capability has taken a beating during the first six months of the war. Vast majority were lost off Java late May/early June during the invasion. Of 92 merchants sunk (many more are damaged and will soon be lost and confirmed on the sunk ship list) 53 were lost off Java.
