Now anything is possible in this new strategic offering from Matrix Games and 2 by 3 Games.

IGN gives WaW an 8.5

Post by traemyn »

I just want to say congratulations to Matrix Games!! [&o]

I think it was genius of you guys to do that preview on IGN a while back b/c that reached a lot of people that don't really know about the whole wargaming scene. I for one would probably have never known about this game if not for that preview. So good job guys I will be buying your game!! [;)]

Those screenshots are awsome. I guess its time to go camp out at EB Games and get this one the moment it arrives.

There were a couple of issues that they brought up that aren't correct (negatives) -

1) No indication that if you move troops out of Manchuria (less than 3) then Russia is activated....not true, there is a graphical option to show you when something like that will occur.

That's the one I saw right off the bat - otherwise, a great article & score!

A great score with or without the error in negatives. To see a wargame get an 85% is a rarity. They slaughtered poor Spartan and it was much much better than what they gave it.
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?

A 9 on both gameplay and lasting appeal? Congrats to the team.

Now maybe GameSpot will wake up and notice the game exists.

Who says you can't have great graphics and a wargame in one package?

Japanese heavy fleets look like the Yamamato.
Hmm; I wonder if Allied heavy fleets look like the Spruance. [8D]

HoI2 got 8.7, but my preference for turn-based games has made this an easy decision. As much of a computer game as GWaW is, from what I've read in the AA Reports it might even (just barely) be realizable in a boardgame format.

Lol, I thought you said you were broke after buying that "cough" HOI2 game? lol

I been saving my nickels and dimes for this one over anything else this year, I can tell a gem even before it is released nowadays. ;)

A few things you need to know about me [&:] ......first, I talk **** [8|], second, where the wife's concerned I talk even more **** [X(] and third I only have a limited budget where the wife is concerned [;)]...I'll get what I want [:D]. Admittedly, if she finds out, then silent treatment will be dished out in large amounts ...but I WILL get what I want!
