Pz-III production from 1937 to 1943

Post by Hoth »

Hello all.

I was wondering if the Pz-IIIh should be changed to the Pz-IIIJ/141 in Wir? Only 308 Pz-IIIh were made from October 1940 to April 1941 when production shifted to the Pz-IIIj with still regular 5cm gun. 1,549 5cm Pz-IIIj were built from March 1941 to July 1942. Pz-IIIj/141/1 with the L/60 gun started production in Dec 1941 to July 42 with 1,067 being built.

Here is a list of Pz-III types and production numbers for those intrested. I left out command and flamethrower types since they are not modled in WIR.

Pz-IIIa 10 in 1937
Pz-IIIb 15 in 1937
Pz-IIIc 15 1937 Jan 1938
Pz-IIId 30 Jan to Jun 1938
Pz-IIIe 96 Dec 1938 to Oct 1939
Pz-IIIf 435 Sept 1939 to Jul 1940
Pz-IIIg 600 Apr 1940 to Feb 1941
Pz-IIIh 308 Oct 1940 to April 1941
Pz-IIIj 1,549 Mar 1941 to July 1942
Pz-IIIj/1 1,067 Dec 1941 to July 1942
Pz-IIIl 663 Jun to Dec 1942
Pz-IIIm 250 Oct 1942 to Feb 1943
Pz-IIIn 700 Jun 1942 to Aug 1943

Forgot to add this. Pz-IIIj/1 to M used the L/60 gun and the Pz-IIIn had a Pz-IV turret with its 7.5cm gun for infantry support.

I think that in game terms the PzIIIj with the 50/42 is considered equivalent to the PzIIIh.
In effect, while the difference in armor is small, the power of the gun is increased significantly.
