Factory control

Post by Guardsman »

Perhaps this question has been asked before but I'll ask anyway.

If the game is played with Human Factory control turned on, how does this affect new factories appearing (ie for new models of equipment)? I started a 1941 game as the Germans and it appears as if the factories for some vehicles that become available during 7/41 do not appear in the game.

Anyone have any info on this?

Just checked the 1942 scenario and they do appear and change and convert but just a bit later than said in the report (Alt+R).
Soviets t34, kvIS, appear months later.
But they do appear so do not worry.
Old wir manual from version 1.0 appears to be spot on.

The dates have changed for some things, so try using the Alt-R report which lists the true appearance dates for things. Some of the documentation and the entire manual are out of date now, especially the manual.

I am basing the appearance dates on the alt+r report. For example, in a current game I set the factory control to human during the first turn figuring I would see if I could run the factories better than the computer. Anyway, the date is now middle of November and the Marder factories have not shown up even thought the availability date is 7/41. Further, the Pjg1 factory appears to have disappeared. Consequently all my TD equipped units are now at 0 with no way of getting more.

It seems like the only option is to let the AI run the factories and put up with it's sometimes illogical way of upgrading equ'pt.

The dates listed in the Alt-R report are mostly or all wrong (this may be related to the problems in the in-game editor where it was randomly adding factories set for later arrival, and upgrading equipment). Anyway, the dates in editwir are correct, so use it to determine the correct dates of availability of equipment.
