help

Post by dclemons »

I'm having a problem that I haven't seen described on this board yet. When I get to the colonel screen and click the play button, my computer locks up. I've tried using intro.exe and mech.exe but nothing seems to work. Is it possible that the CD has some errors on it? It seemed to install on my computer fine and the intro movie works OK. By the way, my computer has a celeron 466 with 64 meg of RAM and I'm using Win98. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Has it always done this, dclemons, or did it just suddenly start?

If the latter is the case, see if someone will send you the mech and intro files.

You say a 466...not a Pentium? That could be the problem. This is a very graphics sound heavy game and it may be overloading your machine. If so it just won't play it. You are asking for more than it can give.

The memory is sufficient, could be the processor.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up fixing the problem by right-clicking on the play button instead of left-clicking. The game then starts normally and the mouse buttons work correctly. Has anyone else this?
