RE: History repeats itself, almost
Try to figure out which is in better shape, Formosa, Saipan or Okinawa and hit the weakest one.
I wonder if Zeta can do anything with a combination of BBs and LBA. It seems that his BB fleet is still intact and he might have a small advantage in a gun battle. In the air its going your way pretty much all the time so he has to find a new way to hit you.

Well I have for seen the future and I have made all of these bases strong. Yes I have a strong BB fleet but I scared of his airpower. I figured it will take him a while to take Malaya, but who knows with the rail movement. I planned for that raid for a month or so, lost some planes but they can be replaced. I am in for some long months as the Allied machine is on an unstopable role. The little victories like that raid are what makes this game fun as the Japanese from late 43 on. I am trying to bulid my HI pool up so I can produce some franks and what not when they come. I have basically turned all ship production off as I have enough for what I need and as I start to lose them what is the point to bulid more to get sunk. So my HI pool is over 1 million and growing every day as I just bulid planes and armamnet points. The key will be how long supply last wonce I run out of oil in the Home Islands.

Well to tell everyone the truth I think our PBEM is the best one yet, we seem to the farthest along yet. We tell what is going on with out day by day detail. That gets old after a while. I feel at the moment our game is like a test to see what happens later in the the war. We are able to do around at least 5 to 7 turns a day. I hope all enjoy and yes I will finish the game Zero problem or not. To all thanks to reading.

I enjoy this AAR as well in fact I like it more than the PzB Vs ADAvidB though I am still curious about that one. I learn more from this one, P Vs A is too far from what is happening to me to make much sense any more.
I totally agree that day by day is too much information. Maps are a huge help too, post more!
In my game we are up to June 42 and I am where Zeta16 is, the game is all about successful raids for the allies. I guess the shoe goes on the other foot after a while. Still it make the game interesting and I do think it slows the other sides advance as well.

I see two huge areas of attack.. PI and Maly.. And I have LOTS of troops and lba.. and soon I just about tripple my naval air power with sever new carriers.. lots of cve's and some old boats getting out of repair.. I do want to hit hime before rthe KAB, kamikazi activation bases, rule comes into affect.... so expect some power projection...
the attack on Tavoy began today.. late 03 44.. several hundred planes .. fb and level including heavies flying out of Rangoon.. if the weather allows.. isn't this great!.. I do not even know if my plans work... due to weather! I plan on daily bombing of his land units and I will be able to push them out rather well..
anybody count 15 hex to Cagyan.. is it KAB or not?

above, notice troops in Davao and soon Batavia.. they each are going down in 04 44.. and then Cagyen.. I will soon have the Sinpapore maly british to US jopint advance on China operation rice bowl..
that and operation big mac theliberation of the philipines..
or we can say screw this nice slow stuff and go right into the northern Islands .. either way I cannot see gettting the Kami activation sooner thatn my big guys come out to play..
probably 06 44

Interesting fact by the time the Kamikazi tactics were developed the Japanese had no CVs. This time I think they still will. That will make it very interesting for a while.
I still want the allies to win but its more interesting if they have to work for it. Once its a foregone conclusion the game is a bit of a bore.

I could forget this slow stuff.. but I really do want to amass a huge killer group tf with 100 carrier planes or so.. and hit him again and again without worry.. and I do care about the K word.. so.. I scan slowly grind out JAva and Davao.. and I get to advance into MAly as far as Goeergetown,,,.. I doupt Z will let me engage his CV's.. but it would be a fun 44 sea adventuere[X(]
At the end of may I get one new Essex, beginning of June 1 new Essex.. before then.. several more cve.. multiple wounded cv's out of drydock...
several cvl' later in the summer too... I things go poorly after I getthese guys afloat, then I may just have to start operation firebomb and take some close to home bases and play.. who has more planes... but so farI am not sure what to attack after 08 01 44
I really would like to think I clould amass enough power and lba to
A ...reduce airbasses along the coast of China from PI and invade larger Islands in strength to quickly overwhelm them.. and the oil has got to be getting lower now aas each time a tanker f=leet shows up in SRA it is getting hit by carrier planes...
I could open the rail lines to China.. and having a large well armed Chineese army attcked and attempt to push the Japs into the Sea..
hard to fight without supplies...
B.. again do this and attempt to invade Korea and activate the Ruskies through reducing the garrision.. to much fantasy there..
C.. try to get all those nast non atoll bases outside of China and the home Islands by 01 45 and then make a lba hell time for those cities in range of lba...
D.. other ??
Points to remember .. I get 4 Iowa class BB's and somewhere around 80 cve's before this is over...
b 29's are training in the states and will show up in my ranks shortly
Lots of army and MArine pilots in pools
More Divisions than I can use.. that is why I have three+ active fronts.. java has two battles currently as I just reached Batavia...

As I keep saying my goal is to protect the Home Islands. China will not be as easy he thinks. I have so many elite divisons there and a ton of supply. Oil as of this point is not a problem I have over a million oil points in the Home Islands and have bulit a stockpile of over a million HI points to this point. Also I have not moved supply out of the Home Islands in over 5 months, so that is not a problem. My whole goal this game as been to protect the Home Islands and to last as long as I can. Yes he is kicking my ass all over the place but what can I do, oh well that is life as the Japanese. All of my subjets will die for the all powerful Zeta16.

Freeboy: I say that once the kamis have been activated, go for the throat. It's time to take Japan down for good and that means an invasion of the Home Islands.
RE: History repeats itself, almost
ouch, you are kidding correct? I would rather bomb them into nothingness than put any more troops into danger.. or maybe we should attack there.. How could Zeta have so much Oil?
I guess I now know why I seldom soy his ships in 43
OK, he has well over 100k in Tavoy.. looks like we got ourselves an old style rumble.. if he stays put and doesnt run away again
just cannot seem to kill those guys.. in Soerbaja.. these are without a base and have been for awhile.. and Batavia too looks like a tough nut to crack...
Davao looks to bethe easiest a soon as my forces can march around those roads..
took forever for my support to get there and the two big marine divisions just did not want to move fortunately I lost few ground forces on his raid ...

Well the troops in Bruma had to run or they would have been trapped in Rangoon not a good idea. Where they were beat first was a non base hex and those suck to defend. Now they are in a base and maybe they can cause some problem for him.
