I think I know how you feel. My monthly budget is an amount that I once considered Expense Account rounding error.

Still, the hours are pretty good ...

Norfolk Island Force, Tanks

Post by Don Bowen »

Been reading a little New Zealand history and came across the Norfolk Island Garrison. Built around 36th NZ Infantry Battalion and including a seaplane base. So, I added Norfolk Island Force - one infantry battalion with some attached aviation support. Arrives 420801 at Wellington and named, surprisingly enough, Norfolk Island Force.

I also noticed that the Australian Army Tank Battalions were, in fact, named Australian Army Tank Battalion (we had them as Australian Tank Battalion). Appended the "Army".

Also, there were a few Armoured units that historically arrived with Stuart Light Tanks and subsequently upgraded to Grant Medium Tanks. We already had a device that does this (#535 - Stuart I Light Tank upgrade to #486 Grant Tank) so I changed the affected units: 7th Armoured (British) and 2/6 Armoured (Australian)

I also made another copy of the Australian Tank Bn to accomodate the differing equipment - some with Matildas and some initially equipped with Vickers Mark VI. This was showing up on WITPCHK as an error due to improper upgrade path.

whilst doing some chores this morning had a sudden thought checked it out and sure enough I was tright Don - schooner class 488 you have set a fuel value for this vessel as 12 as the
schooner was both WIND and engine powered - it should not be resricted by fuel levels perhaps less speed to refelct its speed under sail I hardly think you would put it into a TF with an AK just to refuel it

This one is a tad over my head. Fuel 12 for 5000 endurance seems a reasonable compromise but I really have no idea. Advice welcome.

P.S. Is your new Avatar a picture of your wife??

I keep watching your avatar, waiting for the melons to fall out. They never do. Sigh.

Not much of a stir yet. Let'em fall out. Now, that would cause a stir. [:D]

Where can I get the beta test for this scenario using Andrew's map without the off map bases? I'm dying to try it out![:D]

Probably need to wait for 1.50 anyway. That way the kinks can be worked out by your team.

The current scenario is only set up for the "extended" map with the additional bases. I am planning on doing a conversion to my "normal" map, but it will not be done for at least several more days.
Information about my WitP map, and CHS, can be found on my WitP website

Great Andrew! You guys are giving us a lot more options than were designed for this game. The extra effort will give some longevity to this game. Keep it up![;)]

I watch a history channel doc on the P38 this afternoon which ended up prompting this missive

It stated that after Charles Linburg stayed with a group in the pacific for 4 months in 1943 he developed and new method of conserving fuel in flight for the P38 models extending the efective rang from 950 mile to 1800 miles with serveral missons being carried out at extended range
which promted me to have a look at the P38 stats in the HSC database
at present the P30g =
1.Cruise Speed 185 Endurance 575
using formular in editor (E x CS/3600)= miles of flight - eg 575x185 = 10545/3600 = 29.2 hours of flight) 29.2 hours at cSpeed 185mph = 5402 range miles at cruise
range for the P38J it is 6971 miles at cruise
So question 1 is what IS the range in miles for the P38's
and question 2 is what Endurance would you use to achieve an 1800 mile range
I am useing P38 as example only
figs look way out am I correct in the formular and is this the way you have worked ot ranges for new models or upgrades

Have you ever considered to make Singapore/Malaya as ABDA instead of SE Asia?

No Sir, never have. I have wondered if it would be better to assign it to Malaya but that's not a "command HQ".
