CHS vs AI

Post by treespider »

Is the CHS able to be used against the AI? I remember reading that the CHS was only for PBEM use.

It is for both AI and PBEM. Some testing has been done against the AI, with no problems apparent from either the new map or the scenario. However, nothing we did will make the AI smarter either.

I only play against the AI and have run 60 turns (against Japanese AI). No problems (he said with his fingers crossed).

That's great news. I've been following the progress of CHS, but only play AI.. really pleased to hear I can use it [:)]

Thanks for the response. I would love to play PBEM, unfortunately I don't have the time to sit down on a regular basis to conduct turns on any sort of schedule. (At least not daily.) The AI affords me the ability to come to the game when I have the time.

Just a caveat - I think that the CHS will be playable vs the Japanese AI using the special CHS map. However I don't think the Allied AI will work well with the special map. There is a plan to make a second version of the CHS scenario that can be played on my "standard" map, and that should work reasonably well with Allied AI (as well as Japanese AI).

I'm only playing Japanese AI at the moment anyway, so no prob there. The 2nd version sounds great though (as I'd love to try the Japanese at some point)

I take it the only/main difference between your CHS map and your standard map is the inclusion of the additional out of theatre ports for the Allies?
