Scenario Editor Bugs

Post by CommC »

I'm seeing a number of bugs in the scenario editor, version 1.01, making it nearly impossible to edit the forces. When I try to add additional forces, the composition of the forces already listed changes.

Any suggestions? Is editing the forces in a spreadsheet and then importing them the best way to do this?

Thanks.

Ah, there is a little-noticed "Append" check box that you should check when you want to add additional forces and not simply replace the ones that are there. Give it a try and see if you get the effect you are looking for. If you add the same unit again though you will have to change the names around so that there are no duplicates. Every unit must have a distinct name in Flashpoint!

Manipulating the forces in a spreadsheet is indeed the best way to go. Be aware that Excel converts '1/1' tags to the date Jan 1 though. This is a nuisance and I have put a workaround into 1.02 to prevent it.

Once I get 1.02 out at long last I will be working again on the scenario editor and adding a bunch more features and usability enhancements to it. This is a fun part of the game for me and there is a whole lot more than can be done with it.

Cheers, Rob.

yah, I am using the append check box, but when I try to add some units, the existing units change.

I am having good luck with the excel spreadsheet editing, but I am seeing the date problem. I will try to get around that by formating the cell as a number.

looking forward to v1.02
