Digital Download Available!

Post by Erik Rutins »

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for your patience. We've just completed the last of the store double-checks and have told the store server to place Gary Grigsby's World At War as a live product and clear its cache (so that you'll be able to see it). Cache clearing can take up to an hour, but often less than that. This is the digital equivalent of shipping the games out. Sometime very soon you should start seeing the product "live" in the store and available for purchase.

We thank you all for your support and sticking with us through this unique retail and download release.

For customers who have ordered through retail stores, I expect that those of you who have placed retail pre-orders will have them shipped shortly (hopefully today) with box and printed manual. We shipped the boxed games with printed manuals to retail last week and our expectation and understanding is that you will also start seeing them on store shelves today or tomorrow.

Regards,

- Erik

I'm seeing reports that some customers are already able to see it in our store and purchase it. Good to hear. If you are not seeing it yet, please keep checking back and also clear your browser's cache.

Clear the "Cache". How it´s done is based on what kind of browser you use. Most browsers have a "Help" file, which can usually be accessed by hitting F1, when the browser is active.

No prize. I've tried hitting the New Releases button and WaW does not show up. I've cleared my cache, I've increased its size. Could it be that too many are trying to download at the moment?

Hmmm I went away from my computer w 15 min left in the dl - came back, it was done (or so it seemed) - tried to click to install, the file said it failed integrity check... so i'm starting dl again [:(]

Surprised if my business net connection here crapped out on the file -- I'll report back more details if i get it again.

Nope, that´s not the problem.

Maybe you´re surfing behind a PROXY. Some ISPs have that forced upon their users.

Happens once in ahile. If you have troubles downloading large files then we suggest you use a download client like "Stardownloader" available for free from www.stardownloader.com . It will let you resume disconnected or broken downloads. You can even pause them and resume them whenever you want.

Ryan,

I can recommend the program Marc recommended.
My d/l rate just skyrocket from 20kb/s too 198 kb/s using that program.
Still a 428mb file tho.

Proxy servers act as caches that you can't refresh, so changes to sites (like the recent change to add GGWaW to our store) take much longer to show up for users behind proxy servers. Depending on how they're set, they can cause all kinds of odd issues. No idea if that's the case for you, but it's a likely explanation for why you aren't seeing it yet.

FYI, for those who are wondering, 428 Mb is the correct file size for the download installer.

Just so you guys understand it is *your* internet connection, not Matrix causing the problems, a flawless order and download. A lot of ISP's use caching servers. Until *they* update the cache, you'll be looking at their cached pages, not the real Matrix site. Other ISP's proxy you behind other servers and don't give you a real internet connection. You get what you pay for when it comes to Internet Connections.

Yes, but these products have been long added. GGWAW has been added just this noon. So it could really be a PROXY here.
Please try if this works for you. Click on "World War 2" section, then browse to end of product page two.

Erik,

FYI, after having tinkered with it. I can now get the d/l max what i should get with my dsl line.
But only after chopping up the file in as many files as possible for simultanious d/l.
It seem the max i can get out of 1 connection too DR is 20 kb/s. So if i make simultanious d/ls with more than 1 connection i can get a multiply of 20 kb/s times number of pieces i chop the file into. Just if its some thing u wana take up with DR. Again its most likely some thing that happens on the way here.

Kindest Regards,
