Question on DD release. Can I install this version on two different PC's? I'd like to download and install on my home PC for normal play, but would like to be able to install on my laptop also to play while I am traveling. Is this possible?

As long as only one copy is reasonably in use at a time. If you want to install it on your home computer, a computer at work [:-], and a laptop, such that one is in use at any one time, that is fine. If you want to install it on your PC and that of three of your friends so you can pbem, then you each need to have a purchased copy.

There is no option to order the WaW boxed version from your website, only the DD version. Is this a mistake?

I thought some of the other games had the option to do both.

will there eventually be a "Best of Both worlds" DD and physical shipment option?

I wasn't able to find a physical copy in any store, so i broke down and got the DD. At a later date will it be possible for me to pay shipping costs and get that hard copy? id love to have a nice pub version of the manual...

Paul, is there a method of purchase that makes more money for Matrix and 2by3? A printed Manual would be nice, but your other titles have gotten me used to pdf manuals, so I'd like to purchase the one that benefots you guys and the developer the most.

Out of selfishness, not suck-upiness. I want you guys to do well so you make more games, you see.

I don't know about Matrix, but from 2by3's perspective there are pros and cons both ways. Obviously by going to retail, we are hoping to sell to a wider audience and ultimately sell more copies. In order for that to work, the game needs to sell well at retail or they won't last long enough on the shelf for new people to find them. Buying at retail helps us get more store exposure and thus hopefully more total sales. However, when you buy via download, Matrix does make a few more dollars, as there are fewer middlemen involved.

My answer is since we printed a manual because we went to retail, if you want that printed manual, feel free to buy at retail as that will help all of us in the long run even though we get a few less dollars on the sale. If you don't want the printed manual and/or want the game right now and can't easily get it at retail, go for the digital download.

Bottom line, we're happy if you buy the game, and the best thing you can do for us is to buy the game within the next month and if you like it (and we hope you will), talk it up to your friends (even those not normally into serious wargames). Thanks for asking.

I'll probably order it through GoGamer.com then. They have a pretty good deal on it.

GoGamer is cheaper yes, but add in the shipping and it costs more. [;)]

I have never bought a Matrix game yet, but I am interested in this game, War in the Pacific, and Empites in Arms.

I haven't purchased WiTP yet because it was a bit on the high price side for a first time purchase of one of their products. Empires in Arms isn't complete yet and I am more then willing to quietly wait.

As for World at War I want this game, but I am old fashion in that I want to purchase it retail or at least order it and have a box set delivered to me. I looked around town and it is not in any of our stores yet, then again the population here is only about 30,000. [:D]

I am looking to purchase directly from Matrix since then they get all the money for their hard work, but a hardcopy is not yet available. I can wait though.

When do you expect to have it available with the hardcopy shipment like some of your other games?

I don't know for sure, but I don't think Matrix plans to sell other than the digital download. I think they would tell you to buy mail order from one of the many sources if you can't find it at retail near you. I would expect that in the next week or two most (but not all) retailers that are going to carry the game will be getting it.

Well I owe GoGamer.com an apology. I went to Amazon to look at the purchase they pointed to the vendor GoGamer.com through Amazon and then it was cheaper then the DD. Of course I have to wait about two weeks which I can live with, but it is in fact cheaper (less then $39).

If you go directly to GoGamer.com and purchase the product it does cost more.

This was the best deal I could find, but again I would have been willing to pay a little more to get the hardcopy from Matrix since they created the product, but since that was not possible I looked for the best deal I could get.
