The game is not possible to play, i get CTD all the time

Help!!!

Iv'e just downloaded WaW, and was looking forward to many hours of good fun. But what a dissepointment. The game will not finish even one turn! It crashes to desktop either in the german first round, or the japanese. The game simply does not work. Iv'e tried turning off videos, reduced graphics to the lowest level, using window version instead of fullscreen.

I even had a CTD in the tutorials.

I use Win XP Pro - SP2, Ati X300 graphics card, P4 3.4 Ghz cpu, 1GB memory, dx 9.0c.

Get a patch out ASAP! Or else i want my money back.

Please create a shortcut for the exe and where you see the Target: listed on the Shortcut Properties add at the end of the line: –w –16

This will load the game using windowed mode and 16 bit graphics. If the game crashes, you should get an error message. Try to get the technical information about the error and give us the part at the top (top 3 lines of info up to address) that lists the type of error along with your dxdiag system report. The more information you can give us, the quicker we can hopefully figure out what’s causing the problem for you.

Please make sure you run latest drivers for your graphic card and sound card. You also may want to update the motherboard chipset driver to the latest version.

If that does not help please provide us with a Directx dialog file (see sticky FAQ post in this subforum)

Well. Here i smy dxdiag file.

The game crashes when either the german production fase begins, or when the Japanese production fase begins(i have not been able to get past this point in the 1940 campain). The game uses enormous amount of memory too, 800MB physical and 1GB swap at one point.

I use ATI catalyst 5.2 drivers.

Looks like a bug. I also get crashes all the time. And I have the latest drivers for a All in Wonder 9700 Radeon Pro. I also updated my sound card, and chipset drivers as well as re-installing DirectX9c.

For the record. This is the first game I have ever had this problem with in the better part of two years. I have a pretty damn clean system and I keep it that way.

Let me ask the devs something... I just bought two copies of this game and rated it 5/5 stars on Amazon. Please tell me that the beta testers had noticed this. If not, than there was an extremely large oversight on someones part.

If we had gotten crashes in test, we would have fixed them. So no, I don't think the testers had your problem. Of course we are very interested in figuring out any problem keeping people from playing the game. The first patch we are currently testing fixes 1 known crash (over 64 units in combat animation). We also just this morning fixed a crash that happened very late in a game where the player had a save that duplicated the crash. We were able to figure out what went wrong and are currently testing this fix (initial results indicate that it fixed the crash).

The big issue is we don't have all the systems out there, so we can't always duplicate problems that get posted. The toughest crashes to fix are those that happen before the game even starts as it gives the programmers little to work with. Matrix technical support will try to work with you to resolve the issue. I realize how frustrating it is to have a game that isn't working right (it's happened to me) but try to give the support people a chance to figure out the issues and get the right people involved. We do appreciate your patience and really do want you to be able to play the game.

Looks like a bug. I also get crashes all the time. And I have the latest drivers for a All in Wonder 9700 Radeon Pro. I also updated my sound card, and chipset drivers as well as re-installing DirectX9c.

For the record. This is the first game I have ever had this problem with in the better part of two years. I have a pretty damn clean system and I keep it that way.

Let me ask the devs something... I just bought two copies of this game and rated it 5/5 stars on Amazon. Please tell me that the beta testers had noticed this. If not, than there was an extremely large oversight on someones part.

Please post a DxDiag file for us (see the instructions in the pinned thread in this forum). Without that, we won't be able to start helping you. THanks.
