Ratsafrakkafrikkenbraken!
OK...Starting to get pissed at the mapmod load utility limitation for Win98. Version 3 is different again and now when I attempt to load the darn thing, it asks for either 1 or 2 (Andy's or Official Map) it gives me a syntax error.
Help please...[>:]

I'll let Andrew help with his map utility (which works great for me). As for the syntax - it's 12%.

Yep, basically an Andrew call. No idea what is wrong this time. Each time has been an experience because of the WIN 98 limitation. Manual load becomes tedius after three or four times with all the extensions etc. Tell the truth, I'm getting lost.

So why would you ever want to unload Andrew's wonderful maps anyway??
P.S. Back up and running yet??

Not unloading...upgrading to version 3.

Hi Ron,
Sorry about the problems with the utility. There is a problem with it (someone else using Win98 found the problem and helped with a fix).
I have made a new version that should work OK. I have uploaded the file but haven't made a general announcement yet (still got one file left to upload). But the one you need is available now. Here is a link:
Special map update 3b
Download the zip file, unzip it in the folder where you have WitP installed and see whether the utility works. The update also includes a few documentation fixes and updates scenarios (115 and 116).
Please let me know how it goes.

You know Ron, you should get XP.... far be it for me to hype a mediocre program but these days everything is being made to work with XP.

Yeah, but I don't think my Athlon 1000 Mhz thunderbird can handle the resourcwe reqirements for XP. When I get a new OS it will be riding a new pony.[8D]

Ron, I ran XP on a Pentium III 733, and I still have an 833 machine running XP Pro.(I myself use an Athlon XP 2600+ as my current machine, with XP pro).

Hehehehehe. In all fairness though, I have only had it for about 8 months. Then I gave my mom my 833 machine.

XP will run fine on your Thunderbird. Sufficient system memory is the key... anything less than 512 Meg sucks with XP.

RE: Ratsafrakkafrikkenbraken!
Allso get Nortons Ghost so if your system breaks

Norton's Ghost? Hmmm. I'll look into that. Had Go Back but damage was beyond reverting the hard drive. It was completely fried and got worse with every attempt to repair it.
I'll look into a new OS if it's not too much of a resource hog.

Ghost is great for that situation -it completely resets up new drive to previous OS no need to setup and formate drive first - as long as the system can see drive away you go
works in dos land from boot disk as well as from windows
