For the sake of our gentle readers, I will go ahead and confess that all you have to do is take Karelia and Murmansk. The next territory over borders an impassable sea zone, so nothing can land there.

Becket, you're having a tough day today (but I do appreciate your trying to help out). Actually Karelia is Murmansk. You need to take Karelia and Archangel to prevent Lend Lease in the north. There are no rules preventing Lend Lease into either area during winter or any other time (yes, we realize this is not 100% historical).
All understanding comes after the fact.

Really?!? DOH! I was sure that you could not use Murmansk convoys in the winter turns. Crap![:@]

Summer 1943... not a great time in Finland![:@] Oh well, I have Russia by the throat and am hanging on like a pit bull hangs on to a poodle.[:D] (Sorry to poodle owners.) Since the WA landed with no armour he can't get far in one turn (I hope) so I continued to hammer away at Russia... this seems kinda familiar somehow.... anyway I also sank/deamaged at least three more WA transports, outa who knows how many he has now...[8|].

The Axis powers now have 52 of the 70 resource points needed for an automatic victory.[:)] If Japan can pull a rabit out the hat this turn we might have a chance......[X(]

1943 is becoming a very long year.....[:(]. This is the Russian front as it stands now, Russia is down to 14 supplies and shouldn't get much from Lend Lease this season.[:-]

I think I like it better when you don't post screenshots.

You want to see armor in Finland? Give me room for some broken field running like you are and they won't be in Finland long ;)

Fall 1943.
My ecomonic war against Russia has worked. My objectives were starve them of supplies from the WA, my early u-boat campaign in the NA, and then to attack factories and resource centers in Russia so he couldn't build his own supplies. For his up coming turn, Russia has only 14 supplies! None of which are in the pocket shown below. Which is why there is so small a force around the pocket. To use those troops he needs to break the encirclement, repair the raill lines and ship in supplies. Not easy with only 14, by the time he gets to Moscow he'll only have about 4 left. Inside the pocket there are 5 factories and 1 resource. So this turn he can probably build 5 supplies, not enough for 30+ units to go very far. This has been very exciting since my first assault as pretty dismal.
The western front is going to get even more exciting.[X(] The WA have a large build up in Norway and England... and Finland[;)]. My u-boat fleet is a mere shadow of it's former greatness, but we still managed to damage two transports, in the Med., and a heavy fleet off the Danish coast. I must now prepare for several landings this fall along the Baltic coast and in the winter in the Med.
Japan and I are still 16 points from an automatic victory and it doesn't look like we'll make it. Oh well, we will make the end game come at a very steep price!

Winter 1944.... man I hate winters.....
With the large WA force in Denmark, the Russians with some supply and the Germans spread all of hell and gone there not much I could do. Since the WA can't invade most of Europe this turn I went with Defense of the Realm... er.. Reich. West Germany now has twice the number of WA troops in Denmark. If he stays this season I'll crush it like a bug.[:-] I'm guessing he'll probably try something in the Med.[:(] Took out 5 more transports this season Should add to the WA headache. The u-boats are few but they are becoming very crafty, seasoned crews.[&o]
The Russian front now looks like swiss cheese... can I get some wine with that? Not going to be good there, but the Russians can't do too much... yet....[:(] Here's hoping the Japs can keep coming west. [;)]

No pic this turn 'cause it just ain't pretty..... no it's worse than that, it's damn UGLY![:D]

Going to be a very interesting end game.....[X(]

Here's hoping the Japs can keep coming west.

No can do man... I'm running out of infantry units.... Anti-partisan duty is a real pill. I did however blast to smithereens a WA fleet moving up the coast of Australia. It took almost all of my supply to do it though. [:(]

I also removed my troops from Australia because a large contingent of WA forces were about to make suishi of them. Leaving them where they were made absolutely no sense.

Spring 1944... ahhhh Spring.....
My u-boats sneak out and damage one transport off the coast of France and sink two off the coast of Ireland. All three sneak back to port safe and sound. This season started with wat looked like a large standoff in Denmark. The WA called my bluff and instead of leaving landed even more troops there.[X(] Not one to back down from a fight I studied the map to figure a way out of this jam. Then it hit me. First I take 5 tac and 2 hvy bombers and sink or damage 5 transports in the North Sea. Why you ask? Well this effectively cuts Denmark off from any factories ie repair depots..... I then lauch an all out offensive into Denmark from West Germany. The combat analyzer says I only have a 56% chance to pull this off with a loss of 34 units!!![X(] What the hell... no guts no glory... Well..... I win!!!!![X(][X(][X(] And the WA must retreat! But wait they can't! Oh well[:D] So out of 49 units he had there only three tac air escape to Scotland!!! The screen below shows the combat screen. That should set him back by about a year if not more.[:D](note to Paul: I sent saves of all this to Joel to make sure everything was working right. I think some units should have made it to Norway...)
The Russian front is severly messed up by my antics in Denmark and has become very fluid.... the Russians are flooding back into my captured territory.[:@] Next turn I strike back!![:-]

So Vance, where do we stand on this game? Last turn I received from you was "Gold_46". Have you sent one since then? If so, please resend it.

Thanks

After a long delay (real life gets in the way some time [;)]) It's Summer 1944.
After the Great Danish Turkey Shoot[8D], we spent most of our time reoganizing to face the Russians who filled the void left when I raced to defend against the WA landings. Took out a couple of Russian tanks and a paratrooper who seemed to be rather adventurous![:-]

In the North Atlantic, the u-boats continue their reign of terror by sinking/damaging another three transports. Also took one out in the Med.[:-]

I hope to launch an offensive in the East this fall.... (just to spook Becket)[:D]

ps To my game mates, I'm still using the Gold + patch for this game. For me, it should move faster, no travel until the end of May.

So Fall in 1944....
The Russian Front....
Not much happening here. we're trading spaces and hedging to keep out of major fights. Neither one of us has the supplies or the man power for a major offensive... but I feel a change coming.... winter will not be fun![:(]

The Wetern Front...
The Wallies make a spoiling raid into Normandy just to kill factories and resources.[:(] I hate it when my own tactic is used on me.[:@] I retake Paris and move in reinforcements. U-boats claim a transport and a hvy fleet off Brest. The Luftwaffe sinks three more transports. Spys tell us that the Wallies have 9 hvy bombers in theatre and 4 more probably just waiting ferrying![X(] This season is going to be very bumpy.... and loud![8|]

Overall I think I still have a chance at a minor victory... summer of 1945 is coming up fast... just not fast enough....[;)]

..... and then time started again....[&:]

Anyway... Winter 1945...

Retook Leningrad... again.... not much left of the city worth taking...[:'(]

Sank some Wallies transports and shot down some planes...

Rearranged troops to try and hold on as long as possible. Come on minor victory![X(]
