I think that may be the first argument I've ever heard that American history doesn't rely heavily enough on German sources. [;)]

Clearly, people will differ on the Suvarov thesis. After all, we live in a world where people still buy and believe what David Irving writes. I find myself persuaded on the issue by Glantz, who is, himself, the first to admit that Soviet histories are, at best, half-truths.

If the AI is controling Russia: Will Russia always end up attacking Germany? I've played other games in the past, and it always happens, which IRL was a very unlikey senario.

Is Spain playable?

Nope Spain isn't. But you can do the next best thing, set Spain to have enemy status with the Alies instead of being neutral. This has the side effect of removing Gibralter from the game.
