My First game

I played as Germany.

I did a Med Strategy. Eventually getting into India and near South Africa. Serious problems with Partisans came up. I didn't know Garrison troops needed supplies to suppress Partisans. I really think the Partisans are way too powerful for a game of this scale.

Oh and Partisans in the Netherlans. They weren't that big of a problem to the Germans. They were more pro-German than not. Another thing about partisans. Communist Partisans for the most part didn't begin to go at the Germans until after the invasion Russia. The loss of the Med would have decrease the effectiveness of the Yugoslavian and Greek partisans.

If this was Human player to Human player is would be no contest. The axis would loose big time.

I have felt that way at times.... but the more I play Germany the more improvement I see....

The beauty of this game is that it has a lot (a lot!) of depth and complexity in terms of different ways of "winning" - I am realizing that winning a victory doesn't have to mean stomping the entire earth - it means waging a creative, flexible war and lasting until 1946.... something the original Germany couldn't do.

I have actually come to enjoy the complexity - although I admit there have been times of frustration.

But, as the AARs show, people can and have won as Germany in player-vs-player.
