Kaenash, you are saying that you get 'WINDOWS HAS RECOVERED FROM A SERIOUS ERROR' every time you reboot
now? Are you saying you reboot the machine and it gives you this, or WaW brings the system down and you get this?
Is there any other information on that screen when it gives you that message? Do you get this message when you reboot
when you havent started WaW in that previous session?

Milutin, I tried for about 10 minutes to reproduce your production screen CTD, but no joy. I even used the Soviets. It
lose focus on the button a couple of times though (noticed by gold highlight not being around arrow).

As someone who WAS frustrated until about a hour ago with not getting the game running, I understand where everyone is coming from. We pay good money for a game that we expect to be able to run out of the box and then can't return if something happens. But there are literaly THOUSANDS of systems and combonations out there and no developer can possibly hit every one. We just have to accept that some games are going to cause problems with our computers.

Matrix worked with me to help me get the game running, even sending me a advance copy of a new build, which when combined with a very through effort on my part to remove every trace of NVidia from my system and then installing new drivers, finally got the game running. Is some of it my fault for not properly removing the drivers every time I updated? Yes. Is some of it Matrix's for having such a damn high end graphics engine on a WARGAME? Sure. But the point is we worked together, did work on both on our parts, and got the game running for me, and now I can go about playing it.

This is a good company with good support and good games. Only Paradox can come close to these guys with their support. Work with them and they will work with you. I understand that everyone who is having problems is frustrated, but unlike some companies they WILL be fixed -- with your help!

Indeed, your thread is a perfect example that the "devs" don't "jump" on people but actually help them. It is ignorant to think in this day and age that ANY game will work out of the box, there are so many possibilities.

Well, WaW bugs make my copy unplayable too. I did not really want to complain, until I saw how pretty much everyone piled up on Kaenash. It seems that if the game does not run properly, it is immediately assumed to be user fault. Shame on you! Imagine what, Kaenash paid $40 for something he cannot return, and the last thing he needs is all of you telling him "his machine is at fault".

None of the official folks are trying to pile on anyone, though Kaenash did start posting with a set of assumptions about the amount of testing the game received, etc. that aren't actually true. While we all sympathize, we need to be able to explore the most likely possibilities constructively before moving on to blaming the game for everything.

We would love to get info from you and other users on every reproducible problem you find, but keep in mind that because it's reproducible on one system, doesn't mean it's reproducible on all. Unfortunately, that's also true and we've seen that many times in supporting games from various developers and testing teams.

Now, we have an update in final testing that may help some of you (it should be out next week, with any luck). We also have the ability to send out test builds for those with crashes to try out. E-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com if you are willing to try a test update and let us know if it helps you.

In the meantime, all I can say is hang in there and keep reporting. There really are a lot of folks playing this without any issues at all and between the forum and our support e-mail we've solved a lot of problems that were reproducible on one machine but ended up driver/installation/settings related. I'm sure some problems are due to bugs, but they may still be bugs that only show up in a few situations or on some particular hardware that we didn't have in our testing team.

I'll keep you all posted. Again, e-mail if you're at a "brick wall" stage and willing to try a test build, alternately hang on until the update next week. Thanks.

Just to point out, the default "High Graphics" requirements can be stressful for some systems, but the "Low Graphics" requirements are not really high at all for games these days and should run on most current systems without any problems. The "High" graphics are meant to stay on only for systems that are well above all minimum specs.

The first update will add an "automatic setting" in the executable that will switch to low graphics for lower end systems without needing manual configuration.

"DirectX Files Tab: Several files (d3d8d.dll, d3dx8d.dll, d3dx9d.dll, etc.) are old versions, which could cause problems. Several files (d3dx8d.dll, d3dx9d.dll, d3d9d.dll) are debug versions, which will run slower than the retail version. You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version."

You might want to fix your DirectX install before complaining further.

I've absolutely no special interest in being kind to Matrix, still I think the Matrix people deserve some credits. Kaenash started by being offensive and arbitrarily put all the faults on Matrix, even starting the post by "game hasn't been tested blah blah"..
Then, after having being kindly helped by 2 people from the Matrix staff (find another forum/publisher like that .. [8|]), he always rebuked all advices. And he want a refund from Matrix, even if he got the game from a seller that do not refund ! [X(]...
I'd be Matrix people I would have been less kind [:-].

Oh, and BTW, personnally I run finely WaW on a system not even supported (W98 [:'(] ), and have also had kind advice from the staff [&o].
Keep on the good work, Matrix, and send those psychos to hell [:@].
