Aircraft Art Panels

Post by CobraAus »

When adding some art to the side and top panels yesterday found an problem I could not work out the bit map relationship to the data base so first question

Is the relationship between Database entries and bit map ref 1 to 1 that is there are 249 slots for aircraft which reference to a bitmap slot 1 to bitmap 1 and so on if the answer is YES then ...
Is the first art block in Allied panel seen by program as slot 76 and the last as 249
if that is case there seems to be 8 block shorts each panel is 4x42=168 blocks when the panels should be 4x44=174 blocks hence my problem in trying to work out what bitmap number to ref new art - in reality to me the program see the panel as slot 77 to slot 144 which works out .. the game can see and use new art in slot 235 ok
This means to me 1. we are missing 5 blocks - the first 5 of the missing blocks the last 3 would not referanced ( I notice in HCS the last 3 aircraft referance earlier bitmaps)
2. what would happen if the Panels were enlarged 4x44 would the program see them ??

I suppose overall is if my take on this correct if not, anybody know why the art panels when created was not equal to the number of slots in database

this will not effect bit map alloction for Japanese Air as they have only 75 slots in data base
PS Slot 76 and 249 are they usable and how would program see/ and wear on panel would you
place bitmap 249

I think it will use 249 if you refer the bitmap to another number (let's say 225) so you have two planes showing the same side view.
