Great patriotic war (german version)
While anxiously awaiting the autumn rains, the Red Army struck back to free the units surrounded near the Polish border, and threw back an invading infantry unit north of Kiev. However, nothing was accomplished in the Moscow area, which is now threatened from two directions.

In the central front 2 armies surrendered this week, and other soviet forces including a tank army were beaten badly. On the Moscow front the panzers started a bloody frontal attack, and forced a soviet army to surrender, and another one to shatter. The panzer losses are very high, as the soviet defense has stopped our attack in one place, and the fights were very heavy even when german panzers won the battle. But we are now only 2 hexes away from Moscow with (hopefully) secure flanks!

The forces in the west are preparing for a full scale retreat toward Moscow. Final preparations to defend in the city's close in defenses are complete, but the population is restless, expecting further disasters to occur. A counterattack from the east was launched to cut portions of the enemy rail network, but the attack failed to throw back the enemy infantry this time.

Stalin ordered frantic counterattacks against the enemy on forces aimed at Moscow. Although causing some losses, the attacks failed to breakthrough, leaving the enemy in ideal position to capture the heart of the communist party. Stalin has entered a bunker in the Kremlin, vowing to never leave without a victory in hand. He hopes that the west will enter the war against Germany before it is too late, as shells begin to fall all around the city.

Slowly this bloody war end's with the total victory of the german forces defending their home. This week a huge battle in land and air started in the Moscow region. At the end of the week Moscow was encircled with a steal ring of panzer korpses. Our intelliegence reports that Stalin, the bolshevik aggresor beast is sill in Moscow The Luftwaffe is ordered a strict patroling of the Moscow region to stop him from escaping in the air. The desperately attacking 2 tank armies in the Moscow region surrendered this week, as did the Minsk garrison. The red air force resisted extremely heavily as they shoot down more then 700 german aircraft (mostly jets!). The Red Army struck back with everything it had, and the Red Air Force threw its units into battle also. Although a few success were achieved, one rail line from the south to Moscow remains a supply line for the enemy, and an attack to open a supply corridor also failed. Snow began to fall, but it is 2 weeks too late, at least (rain would have been much better anyway).

MOSCOW HAS FALLEN!
After heavy artillery fire, the panzer korpses captured Moscow with one strike. Stalin has hesitated too long with the poison, and was captured as in the last minutes all his slaves turned against him. In Kiev a war criminal tribune will deceide over his faith in an open trial. He has to pay the prize for starting an attacking war, slaughetring innocent german infantrymen near Tilsit in beginning of the war, and for executing all captured german panzer crew (4 panzer korpses has perished in this war).
Unfortunetely this week Golikov has been killed in an airfield attack against the Kalinin front. He was the key figure in the secret peace talks, so this is a great setback. We sent the following fair peace deal to the soviets :

- Zhukov, and other front commanders participating in the soviet attacking war has to be sent for a fair trial in Kiev.
- As compensation for the great german losses, Germany annexes the soviet territory to the Stalingrad, Gorki, Volgoda line (Baku oil fileds included of course).

- Any law passed has to be signed by the german minister for the defeated sovietunion to be valid.
- Sovietunion has to send an amount of the mined mineral resources to germany, which amount will be deceided in % yearly by the german minister for the defeated sovietunion (a max. of 85 % to be fair)

This fair terms have been given to the soviet genarals coming to inform about possible peace.
They were surprisingly aggresive, and not too pleased about it. Our genearls had the suspesion they only did not say rude things, because they want to go back in one piece to their fronts to lead the defence to the death.

Great peace conditions Tom. You've probably studied "economical wonder" phenomenon very good. I am surprized that some Hungarian people symphatize so much to USSR. I like Hungary too. Was in Budapest once. Hospitable and joyfull people.Originally posted by Tom1939:

This was interesting game guys, thank you a lot. It was really great patriotic war in reverse with elegant and desperate Russian defense and Germans as masters of brute force. Thank you for posting battle reports!

Hi!
Well we did not like communism and socialism too much, but hungarians have no problem now with russians I think. And we fared much better in living conditions then the Sovietunion did, and the terror was much shorter by us. I think the hungarians did suffer enough to symphatize with the suffering of the ordinary soviet people, and only hate the bolschevik power, not the people suffering under it. I have to say I did not like learning russian though I do not remember any russian I learned in 4 years (rebellion I gues).
I was never in Russia, but I was once in Kerch (?). It was very strange: great hotels and lot's of mandarin (which was out of supply in hungary until 90, you could buy it maybe once in 5 years), but we were completely sealed of from the local population.
This game we had was really so much fun! I was in clear advantage I have to say though, as my forces were so much stronger. But we plan a rematch, and if Rick would like it as well we will publish that one as well.

Hats off to a player who sticks at it to the end. (a rare thing) You did your best but now the world will not face a 'possible' nasty WW3 but a 'very likely' one.
In 5 to 10 years i can see german IRBM'S raining on New York and kriegsmarine CVN groups patrolling the atlantic.
What is worse is that the germans will have a man on the moon by 1959!! (hehe, does that say something?? I Think they could have done it.)

Thanks, it was a tough battle against the literal horders of Panthers and Me262s, but Tamas did a great job of keeping his forces under control and not allowing any serious setbacks. And the Germans probably would have been able to land 3 ships on the moon, but one would not have had oxygen (the Ferdinands), and one wouldn't have had enough fuel to return
.
