SE Asia Formations in SF

Post by The Gnome »

What is the common method for getting these squadrons over to the SE Asia command? I'd love to be able to move those 64 plane C-47 squadrons over there. Going by ship seems like it would take forever, and I can't seem to locate a suitable air bridge.

Any thoughts?

I didn't find any better way, so I put them on a ship and wait.

I havent tried it on 1.4 yet but when i needed troops in SE Asia, I found that if you changed the HQ of units in San Francisco to SEAC Then a couple days later they would transfer to Karachi. I tried it with air units but it didnt work.

Some may find it gamey, but i figure the 7th INf Div just boarded ships in New York and sailed around Africa[:D]

Hi,
it sounds interesting. If I understand well, you change the HQ of some land unit in San Francisco only and this unit will disappear and will be found in the list of reinforcements for Karachi ???

Well, this is a relief - I think. I changed the HQ of a RTC in SF to S.E. Asia a couple of turns ago, and sure 'nuff it disappeared. So I'll hope it materializes in Karachi soon.

Great, we will never get 1.5 patch [:'(]
Everybody went on bug hunt few days before 1.5 was about to be released...
Like there will never be 1.6?[&:]

It's not a bug, it's a feature ;)

thats the way i look at it

if they wish to correct it, they should make an option to transport units from the US to India via Africa

Someone should try it at other ports. I bet only SF or maybe only West Coast ports will work. I bet it's an undocumented feature as well.

I bet PzB's opponent wishes he'd have known about this feature.
