DO 217 characteristics

Load the game and hit "ALT r". That will produce a report that has the information you are looking for. The report is best read in Wordpad I think.

No, its a plain text file (ASCII), any text editor will do.


BTW folks, Alt-R will work for both the Germans and Soviets. The tank and plane specs list at the bottom includes the equipment of both sides for some reason, but the rest of the information above that is only for the side you were in when you used Alt-R.

If I try the report in Notepad, it is almost unusable because the line breaks are bad. Wordpad opens it fine, and Word does okay although it asks a lot of questions. I haven't tried any others as Wordpad does so well.

Seriously, StarOffice, Turbo C++ IDE editor, Borland C++ Builder v5 IDE editor, SETEDIT (a DOS editor), and ConText and PFE (2 Windows editors) have no problem with the GE*.txt files. Every editor I have has no problem, so why, I wonder, does MS Notepad and MS Word have such a problem with a simple ASCII file? <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

I did get back to basics and started to play WIR again. Must be 4 years since last time.. <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

but anyway I did open this txt-file in excel as I thought that in some miraculous way I could follow casualties, exps and other that kinda stuff that is possible with excel, but I haven't figured out yet how I can do it LOL ...war continues thou <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">
