Computer goes to sleep mode when I run WiR!

Hi,

I have a problem, any time I run WiR my computer, well the monitor goes to sleep mode. Now I had this problem a while back, but I started playing the game again about a week ago with out any problems. Now all of a sudden the same problem is back again. I can re-activate the mmonitor by pressing alt-tab and going back to windows again. When I click I restore WiR again, the same thing happens, goes to sleep.

I am not sure why it started doing this all of a sudden.
I have PIII 800mhz computer with 512mb ram and a GeForce 256 32mb video card and running windows98 second edittion. I haven't altered any setting or anything. I re-started the computer several time but still same thing happens.

Please someone help me with this. Thanx in advance!

It sounds almost like the monitor is not getting the graphics signal from the computer when it goes into the WIR game, and thus deactivates like it will if the computer is off??? I am running it on a GeForce 2 64 MB cart with Win ME and no problems. It may also be that the card does not like changing its graphics mode to accomadate the game, as I believe it does have to go through some gyrations to switch. Maybe try a different video resolution and see if it helps anyway. Have you tried the PacWar game to see if it does the same things?

I had the same problem, and I solved it by changing the path in the .pif file. Maybe it will work for you too.
